misc lingo that you cant explain

I'll start:

"brb x"
"brb y
"brb z"

lmao why do miscers start the sentence with "brb", it doesnt make any sense tbh, cant imagine how confusing it must have been for new members of this forum

another one:

"lettuce be cereal" - why not just say lets be real, or lets be serious, why do you have to say lettuce be cereal

BRB has been used since the early days of misc, definitely before I joined. I’m guessing it comes from the days of instant messaging when BRB was commonly used when you had to go AFK for a few minutes but wanted the sloot you were cybering with on AIM to stay logged in.
