This.

And it's sad though. Because of that, I noticed that my standards along with my confidence are getting lower and lower each year when you don't have anything to choose from and even the plain average girls aren't to keen to go out with you.

By the time they are teenagers you are approaching retirement and I'd say pretty disconnected from what they are going through in life. At this point even being 5 years younger on your end would probably make a big difference in you being able to relate to them and keep up with them. I'd much rather have kids in my 30's than 40's for this reason and that drives my "obsession" more than anything else.

The company with the sloot would be great too but I've learned that sloots come and go too easily especially nowadays. As I get older I place less stock on my enjoyment of her company as much as I do on her being a good mother to my kids as she and I may split but she'll still always be the mother of my kids.
holy **** repped i never thought of it like this thank you

I just live my life and whoever comes along comes along. I often find that when I least want women in my life, they just show up. When I am out pursuing my hobbies, dreams, goals, and career; a woman just comes up in my life. I don't keep them around for long and have always found relationships to be a burden because of the time it costs. I guess it is because I am ambitious and want to do a lot with my life outside of just having a 9 to 5 and then going home to watch football, drink a beer, and take a dump.

If I was the normal guy who worked 40 hrs a week, then maybe I'd want a woman for emotional support and want kids.

I also imagine society will judge you harshly and say that you are weird, odd, or messed up but the men I know in real life like this are happier than the married and recently divorced guys.

Sometimes I wonder if its crabs in a bucket by other men. They know they messed up marrying quick or marrying the wrong woman so they hate the men who have freedoms in life and try to make them feel bad for being bachelors.

Unfortunately this school of though has infested the misc too.

Wanted to know if men on here are happy being bachelors and casually dating without commitment.

No FAs please.
It’s been the cause of nearly every relationship failure I’ve had. I get a girl, that initial rush of meeting and talking to someone new, the buildup, then the sex for the first time. It’s the best feeling every single time it happens. Then after a few weeks, when we’re laying there in bed after and she’s emotionally attached, I’m just done. I get to the point where when I finish I just want her to leave so I can go back to doing something else.

I’m definitely not built for monogamy or LTR’s I don’t think. Of course women tell me that I’m going to change but here I am at 30 and it’s the same as when I was 18. I love the thrill of the chase and then when I actually have her? BOOM, boredom and indifference. Part of it is I don’t think I’ve ever met someone that I’m truly compatible with and that is also hot enough to keep around. The pretty ones were always very mentally damaged and easy to walk away from. I’ve left more women already than most men will ever have in a lifetime. Grass is greener and I need that rush…. I don’t know, just the modern world I guess.

I am in the G1adi4tor88 camp. I really do not relate with all of you guys looking for a friend in a girl. I thought there was an understanding that if a guy was hanging around a girl he was trying to get her in bed.

I often wonder how much of this mate choice decision is based on pure opportunity versus genetic preference. The choice in mate for me was never really who I enjoyed hanging out with the most, but who was worth making a family with.

edit: I just saw the Sean Connery and Barbara Walters clip where he flat up says he would rather golf with men than women due to it being more pleasant.

lol, no thanks.

The good genetics and good mother are both important. I cannot imagine watching my wife destroy my children emotionally.

I am pretty sure the drug abuse, self harm, criminality, emotional instability, low self worth, and value seeking outweigh the benefit of looks. Most the girls I knew with openly unstable mom's were pregnant before finishing high school. Even today I read a thread where Retoaded was talking about how messed up his partner is most likely due to the mom.

I do not want to bring more pain to this world and hope everyone else is doing their best to rein in crazy. (edit: reign was the wrong word)

I am not breeding puppies and this is not the 1700's. We do not lose women and children in birth as in the past. Unless already part of a successful family teenage pregnancy's could lead to big disadvantages in life.

Back to the point of this thread, I know guys that are happy in their 30s and not married. Most have recently escaped horrible relationships due to them shacking up with crazy not knowing they had other options. They are all in the "kids in love" phase with their new partners (dating). I feel like I am old enough now to see the rollercoaster a lot of people are looking for. You are a human and there are forces working within you to try to make you procreate. A lot of this involves bonding with a mate and there are all kinds of tricks nature plays on people. Statistically men will cheat on their spouses seven years after the kid is born. This must be around when nature says the kid is old enough that the guy can move on. In our society kids need the dad around for longer regardless of how stable the mom is. This means most guys are going to have to just kinda hang out even if the whole procreating thing is no longer as exciting. This turns into the typical responsible dad everyone remembers from growing up. The guy who's life revolves around mowing the lawn, washing the car, watching the game on the TV while having BBQs. It gets boring. The best thing to do is learn to be content with yourself and resist that siren's song nature plays for you from time to time.

If you made a ****ty choice in mate or do not like your own genes, it is going to be a lot harder. You will have your fat crazy wife abusing your kids (enter Silencespeaks). If you plan on staying with someone you need to find someone stable that provides value in addition to childbirth. It will still be boring, but you will not want to shoot the dog and hang yourself in the yard while the house burns later. If you yourself have quality you can find someone attractive that is also stable. The minimum should be that she will not destroy your life due to her not being happy with her own.

If you plan on just getting a woman pregnant and leaving, do us all a favor and choose a stable woman even if she is not as pretty as the crazy one.

In OP's shoes he should just realize whatever he is feeling right now is likely how a lot of married guys with kids are feeling other than the fact he does not have the same responsibility. You do not need a rotation of women. You do not need a high salary. Regardless of whether you are married with kids or single you just need to be okay with yourself.

(edit: I do a lot of edits . .. the statistically seven year thing I mention is not really a statistic. I guess I had it mixed up with the Seven Year Itch saying. Some argue it is actually four years.)

I'm 30 and and marriage is still baffling to me. While splitting bills does sound appealing, the idea of buying a house with someone else and only having sex with them sounds like a prison. As more and more people I know go down the family rabbit hole, the life has only seemed more and more boring, with only a few striking a happy balance. Not that I judge people who settle down, a few people I've seen seem genuinely happy, but far more seem like they do it just because it's the thing people do, or because they just settled for their high school sweet heart.

As I've gotten older the frequent casual sex with multitudes of randos has held less appeal though- Not since it itself isn't fun but because seeing one person in a casual or even more serious relationship is more appealing than playing the dating game like when I was 20-26.

Someday? Someday my dream will come? One night you will wake up and discover it never happened. It's all turned around on you. It never will. Suddenly you are old. Didn't happen, and it never will, because you were never going to do it anyway.

Yes.

I'm 33, never been married and no kids, did have two multi year relationships in my 20s, both I thought were "the one" but it didn't turn out that way, after the second one ended I sort of wised up a bit, long term commitment isn't massively important to me now, there's plenty of girls out there you can have a hell of a lot of fun with, and I mean I'm being realistic here, I'm lucky to have always looked young for my age, and to be in great shape, but my window for banging hot young chicks is going to close in the next handful of years so I'm kind of enjoying that while I can, when I hit 38-39 maybe I'll review a LTR with someone a bit closer to my own age, idk though I mean ngl most women my age NOW look washed and I wouldn't touch.

Long ass sentence there.

Happily in a relationship and we have a baby.

Did the bar scene, played it single 3 years; dated a few girls and kinda was meh on it.

The loneliness on Sunday nights with noone around was tough. I took my time though and I hope you all do the same. I thank myself for touching out the lonely nights
