Of course it makes sense. They saw how easy was to sell to adults, why stop there? Children are an untapped market. Why do you think there are quarterly "booster" shots for a fukin vaccine LOL. Read any other vaccine and 1-2 shots = protection for 10+ years.

Nope you need to stock them but don't need to use them. So you'd only buy enough stock to warrant the expected use. And the majority of antibiotics can be made from powder that can easily be reproduced so they are harder to patent. That's why drug stores can compound the antibiotic for cheap (order powder from India or China). The vaccine is exclusively sold by the 4 or 5 major companies with the technology to make them.
