I liked the Goths. Huskarls were were basically invincible and you could spawn them from barracks insanely fast.

I also loved the Britons. I would put their longbowmen in towers. When anyone approached they would get destroyed.

Huskarls get mauled by champs and samurai, as well as paladin. They have high pierce armour but their melee armour sucks.

Goths are strong because of anarchy, rather than just huskarls

It's been a while since I played, I knew there was another reason why they were good.

The pierce armor is what I meant by invincible. Seeing a bunch of Huskarls coming at you from barracks is pretty frightening though.

It’s not politics it’s just a dumb studio and the game is weird cartoony and a shallow pointless skeleton of AoE2.

I played the open beta and it was pointless and boring.

The devs are weird euro-tards who don’t get the appeal of the OG and keep trying to dumb it down.

Like everyone in the community says it’s too zoomed in and the devs responded with “you can’t play it zoomed out” and we were like wtf?? Of course you can I play AOE2DE in 4K on a giant screen of course I can zoom out—- moronic imbeciles.

AOE II DE really is the only way to go lets be srs

Tried AOE4 beta test and really don't like the way the game looks visually, just feels clunky

Yea I played aoe2 and aoe2 conquerors on the zone back in like 1999-2003. Once they came out with aoe3 and they went from fixed camera to zoom in it was RIP.

Used the Frank's in aoe2, mayans in aoe2 conquerors and of course, elephants with the Persians lol. Nothing more mogging to an online player than coming in with 50 elephants and scorpions to rape his pikemen.

Elephants get wrecked by pikemen and are expensive.
