Friday evening I was about to leave work and I saw this brown dog outside my work, obviously a stray, looked to be a lab/pointer mix no pit which is unusual. Scared probably trying to find trash to eat. Looked like a very sweet dog but scared. Tried to get him to come to me and he almost did but got scared last minute and ran away. One time I didn't have any dog food or anything to feed him. I had this gut feeling, almost like a voice saying that if I don't save him he will die. I didn't see him so I just said "well can't save them all and probably nothing I can do but waste my time" so I drove home. Had to come in Saturday because of the end of the month closing paperwork and I saw a brown mess that looked like dogs paws on the side of the road but otherwise mangled. I'm 90% sure it was a dog and probably that dog. I feel like I could have saved him and I failed and now he's dead and it's all my fault. He seemed to have such a sweet demenor about him that he could have been a good dog and had a good life but I was lazy and now he won't get that. He died hungry and afraid. No I don't feel that I killed him but I feel we crossed paths and I failed to do the right thing. Maybe if I just had food he would have settled down and not got hit wandering around. I already have 5 and it's too much but maybe could have gotten him a home. FML srs.

Last year a baby dove was in my yard. It could flutter around but not really fly. I had it in my hands. The parents were no where to be seen. I had to go to work not long after and couldn't do much, but it wouldn't have been hard to give it shelter at least if I didn't have to go. I left it in the yard.

Later the same dove's dead body is in the front with its head smashed. I thought a cat must have got it. Later realised it wouldn't have been a cat it would have been magpies who live nearby and are protective of their territory. They kill other birds. It's head was pecked open.

Then later the 2 parent doves are walking around the back yard. Minus their baby. :-(

Don't feel bad. You already have 5 dogs. You've done your part mane

Just because you’ve done x amount of good deeds, that doesn’t abolish you from doing them again. Always follow your gut. When you betray it, it’s much harder to live with.
