with that in mind there are two factors here, the team seems to be calculated in making sure they get this right. the consistent growth and price appreciation tells me that once btc runs and alt season commences, you will likely see metis run pretty damn hard as a part of that lower ranked alt coin run, which is where the real money is made..
once people catch wind of what they are doing and WHO is involved, maaaaan...
i can already tell they are beasts in terms of the tech, but if if they can combine that with hype/community. sheeeeit
solving a real problem via the tech, generating hype, and building community.... those are unicorns when it comes to my evaluation. it sounds rudimentary but i find that most projects tend to be super strong at one but insanely weak in others.
the goal is to build with the sophistication of top blockchains, while generating community even half as much as the top meme coins. holy hell...thats whats early retirement is made of right there.
*edit
hopefully this makes sense. i just got back from a fantastic high end steak dinner. feels like such a baller when i go to those places. but also had a few cocktails, so i shouldnt really be posting.

crap
crap
Andreas Antonopolous -good for BTC fundamentals
Michael Saylor -meh - BTC bull but you won't learn anything from him
Raoul Pal -bad - don't rate the advice he provides at all, makes fundamentally flawed takes
Chris Dixon -dunno who this guy is
Naval Ravikant -bad - gives one liner tweets that only serve to farm engagement
Mike Novogratz -bad - you won't learn anything new from him, a permabull with little substance
punk6529 -dunno who this guy is
Arthur Hayes -excellent - he is very based, worth following just to know when his blogposts drop
Jack Mallers -decent - BTC advocate and builds on the lightning work, worth a follow
Chamath -bad - early in BTC but never gives any good takes on crypto
Vijay Boyapati -meh - his big BTC article is A+ but doesnt tweet anything worthwhile
Vitalik Buterin -I personally don't find him worth following on twitter, his github activity and posts are better but more on the technical side
Richard Heart -lol
Joseph Lubin -haven't seen him post anything worthwhile
Erik Voorhees -good - posts some good things from time to time but nothing amazing
I'd suggest the following
Fiskantes- fundamentals driven venture capitalist at ZeePrime, dropped SOL at $2, Luna at $0.6 and OHM at IDO
Zhusu- fundamentals driven fund manager at 3AC. Currently a bit of a permabull but was quality in 2020. You could follow his tweets and make a ton of money shorting/longing.
Kyle Davies- same as Su Zhu
degenspartan- 80% of his analysis posts are good takes.
mgnr - very based takes. Hedge fund manager.
crypto cobain- early BTC/ETH investor. controversial pick but worth following just for his podcast releases, always has quality guests. I've learned a ****ton off them.
hasu- technical/fundamentals guy, his UCC podcast is the best in crypto, worth following for its drop.
cryptoyieldinfo- very good source for yield farms.
Then you have the developers
Andre Cronje- can't even estiamte how much money i've made aping into his projects or positive reviews, quarkchain, holochain, YFI, Keep3r + yearn ecosystem
Danielesta- $TIME was my best investment of the year. $SPELL is a 200x bagger MakerDAO competitor and $ICE is progressing nicely.

Anyone hopping into merit circle ($MC)?
Ungodly amounts of volume on UNI makes me think tier1 exchange on the horizon. I don't really like the tokenomics tho. However long vesting periods and staking could reduce the supply long enough for some good gains in the next few months.

No.
PoW and PoS are consensus mechanisms to secure the network. HEX has no network to secure, it's an ERC-20 token. The same game theoreticals do not apply here.
Metcalfe's law values a network. HEX is a sub-network on a distributed protocol. Fragmented pieces of a network are not subject to the same formula as Metcalfe's law.
Study showing ERC-20 tokens do not follow Metcalfe's law:

I've moved on from a lot of alts. Xlm, IOTEX, CARGOX, very old BTT, AUDIUO, Sia, etc and rolled it all into METIS. Other than metis, finally went in on the crypto.com cards, and top tier alt buys like ATOM, ALGO, etc

WTF are you guys buying? Whatโs wrong with buying SOL at $35 like I did a few dozen pages back in this thread, and making your 10x safely? Where do you even buy this sheit? I tried to pick up ELON on coinbase wallet, they want to charge me $500 ETH miner feeโฆ How do you know these names of these obscure new projects as well as meme coins? Where do you find this stuff?

So I've been messing with crypto for about 2-3 years now, but just the big ones on RobinHood. Usually do pretty good as the big ones usually are a bit more stable and their highs/lows stay the same for weeks at a time.
But I'm lost on how crypto can be taken serious - or even integrated in the real world - at least more than the popular ones. I have no idea the exact number but there has to be 100's of crypto's out there now and it seems like new ones are popping up each week. How is this sustainable or even able to make it to the real world? Do they eventually merge into each other? I think not because of how they're mined. But 100's of crpyto's can't be integrated into businesses. I can see the top couple of coins. What am I missing?

Some projects will survive, most will not, you are correct. But itโs a big world out there, room for many cryptos.

Sup brahs, looking to get into web 3.0 tokens that are under 1b market cap. Ocean protocol seems very interesting, anyone has an opinion on it?
Also elastos used to be mentioned quite frequently here back in the day but it seems like it never got anywhere, at 92m market cap it seems like an interesting high risk high reward buy if the whole space pumps. Is anyone still holding it?

Ungodly amounts of volume on UNI makes me think tier1 exchange on the horizon. I don't really like the tokenomics tho. However long vesting periods and staking could reduce the supply long enough for some good gains in the next few months.
