How can a job deny your religious excemption?

Is it not against the law somehow? Somebody smarter explain

As long as you type up a strong letter and perhaps site Section 12 of the EEOC.

Because religious exemptions don't override already existing laws. Same reason why Mormons can't legally marry >1 woman or same reason why you can't murder someone and say your religion said to do it so it's okay
