Cold war effectively ended real wars among superpowers. A true war between china and usa ends in the end of times as we know it, as does any nuclear involved power.

Proxy wars, cyber harassment, economic wars...this is the future. Wars are fought now via ideology, economics, and little mini theaters. If a true war between us broke out we probably wouldnt even remain alive to know about it

I am not up to speed on foreign relations with Taiwan. But why would we care if China took over Taiwan? Are there exports and industries or strategic military implications there we rely on or is it simply because we shouldn't let China bully them around and if we let them it sets a precedent?

Does someone have cliffs to help shed light on this situation?
