Anybody have a LEGIT bugout location or bunker?
Been thinking about building one up, or buying a small piece of remote land way out in the sticks. Srs. Anybody have their own bugout location or bunker at their current property for when SHTF?

No. But if I had the land id like to bury a 40' container to make one. Obviously somehow make it so it doesnt rot or whatever. I think that would make a good bunker.

Small cabin in a cedar tree filled ravine near the largest dam in the middle of my 18,000 acre ranch on my that’s fed by two large creeks. No electricity, running water, plumbing etc, exquisite fishing and hunting and I’m the only one that knows it exists.
Edit: could’ve swore I had pics, it’s not terribly pretty but it’s functional and it’s relaxing as hell. I’ll get some pics next time I’m over there.

I've been thinking about making one for years. I'd have to build it out of fiberglass and do it water tight. In the winter I hit water at about 3 feet down.

Was watching a four wheeling video on youtube and they were driving through an area that had recently burned. They ran across someone's bugout shipping container that did not survive the fire. Full of fire damaged AR-15s and ammo.

Kinda. My friend inherited this cottage from his granps by the country side close to where we grew up. Its next to a river and pretty much completely hidden, theres like 6 neighbors in a 5mile radius. He gave me and another friend keys for it back in like 3rd grade (we known eachother since daycare srs). Place was a fkn blast growing up, little rachety but it had everything, sauna,river,fireplace and electricity. 100s of nights spent there either partying or just chilling with the bois. We still go there almost every summer, on midsummer day we raft the river down (10miles) with 40€ blowup boats and get yucky as fukk!!! We skipped on it last summer tho, everyones getting busy. Havent been there in a while. Last time i went there to hide some weed like last january but thats a different story. If chit ever goes down ill be going there fr.

I think a "bugout location" is an unrealistic fantasy for most people
How do you know you'll be able to make it there during a disaster?
Are you really going to check on it regularly to make sure it's in good condition and there's no squatters etc?
Are you gonna buy double everything to keep both your house and bugout location stocked up on supplies?
Could someone else just take it for themselves before you get there?
Is it gonna be fully equipped with everything you need to live there permanently?
Idk brah, I think most people would be better off just living in a rural area in normal times and just stay there and "bug in" if there's a disaster. There's a lot of advantages to already being at your location before the disaster happens
You really want to try to travel to your location during a disaster? What if the roads are blocked by abandoned cars because people are panicking? What if you end up needing to walk there on foot? What if you get attacked on the road? Not trying to be argumentative or anything, just offering another viewpoint

Wtf at you guys talking about living in storage containers and septic tanks buried underneath the ground. If the world is fked enough that I have to live in a 10x20 cell underground and live off of rice and beans I’d rather die.

My house IS my bug out location.
Small town. acreage. House is in the woods/no visible neighbors. Small brook nearby. No large population centers nearby. Have the skills and tools to perform most tasks on my own.
I’m not a prepper by any means….. but I’m self sufficient. If one of these crazy shtf scenarios ever happened the biggest change to my life would be that I just wouldn’t have to go to work anymore.
Oh, and I guess I’d have to learn to hunt too…..but Since I have deer, rabbits, turkeys, squirrels, bear etc wandering through my yard all the time I can’t imagine it’d be that hard to chill in my yard with a rifle and blast one.

Wife's family has land in the South Pacific, but it's not exactly easy to get to and the island is already overpopulated, so we're probably better off just staying here.

Another strategy is just have enough stuff so that you can take over someone else's bugout place. Or realistically during any major disaster there will be tons of empty houses where people are displaced or dead. Or if you have firepower simply take one over and kill whoever's inside. Hunker down near a river and just set up shop. Why build anything?
