Can you guys recommend a heavy bag + mounting?

Wife been wanting one

she really wants a hanging one I'm more leaning towards a freestanding because the garage is finished so I can't hang it over a beam, I'd have to drill thru drywall into studs

which I can do I guess

just for ****ing around, non serious training

Freestanding bag is gay.

Get a water bag, LiquiShock is the one I know although I'm sure there are others.

I'm on a bit of a budget nowadays, so I use a plastic bag, then mount her from behind just in case it slips off.

Hope this helps op.

What is your garage like? Do you have other workout stuff up there? I used to hang my bag from a pull-up bar, it didn't get in the way and was actually nice because it forced me not to use momentum doing the pull-ups. The freestanding ones kind of suck because they take up a ton of space, get in the way of moving around the bag/etc. Drilling into the wall is a pain, but it would ultimately be worth it, save space and be a lot cleaner.

. I got like 7x8 wood and mat platform. Rack with a lat pulldown mounted in the back, bars, weight tree, treadmill and assault bike

So it's stocked but running out of room and as I said it's finished so no exposed beams

All the actually wall space is taken so I have to drill into the ceiling

The freestanding ones are shiet if you plan on also using it brah. If only your wife is, then ya thats fine.

Whats the big deal with hanging it up though? Its just drywall, if you wanna take it down its just a small patch and paint job.

Freestanding ones break easily and often have a stand that gets in the way of footwork

Strongly suggest hanging one, and ffs get some MMA gloves. Donโ€™t go in thinking youโ€™re the chit and using bare hands

Get one on a stand because she will most likely stop using it after a week and you will avoid making permanent damage to your home.
