Friend still lives at home at 30

Dude's got a good career (finance/accounting) and pretty much invested everything he's made over the last 10 years or so. Has a few rental homes all paid for in cash, stocks, crypto and a small ecomm biz on the side. Lifts and is very social/outgoing. His Family is very close to each other and they like having him around apparently. Pretty sure you move out when you find a wife in his culture. Casually dates here and there from what I understand but I don't think he's too keen on getting married in this day and age with the dating environment the way it is.

Kinda mirin tbh. no homo. Homie has a leg up on most people his age. Hope he doesn't simp for a sloot and get cleaned out though.

Find it ironic that most people in America split at 18 and then live pay check to pay check following "social norms". I mean why even have little bastards if you're going to boot them at 18?

lol my best friend is a principal at a major private equity shop

He's been making 300k+ and has lived at home for the past 2 years because of Covid

Guy just flies around NA to meet with portfolio companies and banks everything

Owns 4 rental properties, has like 500k plus in his brokerage account now and he's 29

Makes me feel awful about my life - here I am doing sales and paying 1850 in rent just LOL at me

Bro I am pretty sure the statistics were like damn near 50% of 20-35 year olds were living at home with their parents last year. Unless you took up a trade/licensed specialization early on after HS, you're pretty much ****ed by debt/inflation for awhile

Honestly jelly of people who live at home that are making things happen. It's expensive out in these streets. Lol at those who live at home doing a bunch of nothing though.

this. It can really be used to their advantage. It's like a chance at starting on second or third base in life. No hate from me.

Unfortunately there's a lot of social shame, especially in America. People label anyone who's at home as a loser but I think they are just jealous. Unless the person truly is rotting on moms dime, then that's not cool.

Oh yeah, nothing like being jealous of someone who can't leave the nest till they're 30 or older.......

I come across individuals that do have a right to brag though, those who joined the military when they were 17 years old, and became a cop at 21, and they have been living on their own since.

They're not sitting around playing video games, having mommy feed them, and wiping their ass.

yea thats how it is in my culture too. you dont really move out until you are married or with the girl you are going to marry. i moved out when i was 23 because i bought a house, but i was literally like a 5 min drive from parents house and i was over there like every day basically.


theres nothing wrong with living at home with parents unless you are a loser.

Just because someone took another path to life doesn't make anyone sneeze at them.

I respect a veteran/police officer just as much. I'm just pointing out something that is frowned upon in society and presenting a positive twist. Idk anyone like you described so I can't really speak to it or post about it. My post is anecdotal, Relax

I kind of think a good half of adults that talk **** about others for living at home are envious because either they can't stand their parent or their parents can't stand them, so they no longer live together. I mean it's cool that you share an apartment with 3 other dudes and their girlfriends, but you are broke have no credit and no net worth. Maybe you should have stayed at your parents.

It just gets on my nerves when certain individuals talk chit about someone that lives at home, when said individuals life is not going that well

Get a big villa with 10 - 15 rooms, have grandparents, parents, and kids in the same house, kids can be babysat by grandparents instead of some weird nonce stranger. See no issue when people can pull that sh!t off.

I banged more girls living at home than living on my own. Literally just banging sloots and learning programming / buying crypto back in 2012. The good ol' days.

I used to have boomers and family frothing at the mouth, clearly jealous of my high level convictions. Now I'm retired before 30, do what I want everyday and bang whoever I want. Low IQ NPCs can't fathom this type of freedom.

lived at home until now (32), got my bills paid for, got my own car, free internet, free food, nice house you name it

getting my first apartment now and I will probably move in next week, I have only worked three summers my entire life, spent almost my entire 20s as a free spirit and dont regret it a single bit eventhough family members tried to shame me into becoming a wage-slave

meanwhile my "good citizen" cousins who are around my age have been working their asses off at some ****ing factory since their early 20s, and it shows, they look like they could be as much as 20 years older than their actual age, and look stressed out as ****

if you have a small house ya. my parents house is 4k sq ft with a basement walkout, so it was never a problem for me with sloots when i live with them.

i get what youre saying though, it does sound "odd" when someone is 30 and lives with their mom, and most of the time it really is because those people are loser at life... but if someone is on the ball with career, health, family, why does it matter? again, im an immigrant from the balkans and over there it isnt abnormal at all to live with parents until you get married (and even after lol).



tbh i would think much less of a man who told me he rent a condo and works for a shiet salary than a man who lives at home but is doing very well financially.

i live alone (with gf), and my mom still does my laundry a lot of times and cooks for us lol. idk man, again maybe cultural difference, but if i told my mom i didnt want her to help me out it would make her feel bad because she genuinely likes to do these things for me.

when we have a baby she will basically be our full time nanny too. btw i do pretty well for myself, if i wanted to i could easily just hire a full time housekeeper to do all of these things... the idea is i dont want my mom to not be apart of my life and she doesnt want to not be apart of my life.

I think at least for some time in your 20s it's useful to be on your own for a bit, it can teach you a lot about the value of things and how to get by on your own. nothing wrong with trying to get a leg up on your finances if your parents are willing. if that's what it takes, so be it as long as you are doing something to contribute and doing something with your life and the goal is to get some place of your own. lol @ being stuck in some poverty rented studio with 3 other roommates whom are more acquaintances if anything and still getting cucked by some landlord. been there, done that.
