Windows is such a garbage OS

Jfl at people still using windows in 2021. It doesn’t seamlessly sync with hardware or software. Constantly crashes. Extremely susceptible to viruses. Just a garbage system.

Seems like that is the same as how well third party peripherals sync up with windows. Hell, even Microsoft peripheral pairings aren’t that great.

I can't recall a single instance where I had a peripheral not connect to windows via USB since Windows xp

Did you ever consider that it's the 3rd party manufacturer software you're likely trying to use..

Sure you can, after 3 tries

Just the other day Pop distro failed to install on 2 out of 3 machines, meanwhile I've installed Windows around 100 times in my life and never once had it fail

Don't cope; there's obvious reasons 99% of PC owners use Windows despite Linux being freeware

People use windows for the same reason people still drive Chevy cars. Their default mode is to use whatever is familiar, even if it's the worst possible option.

Also, Pop is meh as a distro. Them trying to cover the GPU drivers as part of the distro is obviously complicating things.

I promise if you tried a Linux Mint or Ubuntu version, there'd be zero install issues. Just compile the gpu driver after the fact.

I've been using Windows 10 LTSB (Enterprise version, as barebones out of the box as it can get - not even IE is preinstalled) strictly for gaming and running VirtualBox with Arch Linux for everything else, because I'm too lazy to dual boot back and forth.

I heard KVM emulation on Linux is really good and with hardware passthrough you can get the same performance in games, I gotta try this some time.

Most people do at least a bit of gaming with their desktop.... cant do that with linux or macOS.

Also, crashes and viruses? If you know how to use a pc properly those are non issues boyo. Dont think ive had any issues with viruses since like 2002 when i was downloading porn on limewire.

Try hooking up guitar or other instrument interfaces to windows and it’s absolute garbage. Versus with Mac, the same peripheral it’s literally plug and play with better software.

Probably nearly as easy and functional on a Linux distro.

Not to mention all recoding software on windows is garbage.

The only software that is better in Windows is Microsoft Office and Power BI.

See that’s another retarded thing about windows. You have to get a new PC every 2 years for their **** OS to operate.

Mac OS runs in decade+ machines. Not to mention Linux which can run on just about anything, no matter how old.

I work in computational science so clearly like Linux but woe betide you if some part of the OS chits the bed badly, your angus is not peppered for that unless your autism level is over 9000. Windows may slow down and bloat like a Latina after marriage but you have a fighting chance of fixing the damn thing (but need to rebuild from a disk image every 6mo). MS Office is only really functional on it so dual boot is just reality.

I'm honestly not sure what to run these days, at one point I had a hackintosh with Ubuntu, OSX and Windows 10 on it. Then Crapple axes Nvidia support and I just used Windows 10 since I need to for VR sim racing. If I need Linux I use WSL2 or docker containers.
If you can't handle me when I'm incel, you don't deserve me when I'm chad

What are you talking about; windows is backwards compatible on any modern hardware

I could install windows 98 right now

You can install windows 11 on anything..

I had a 2000 Dell PC that still ran flawlessly until I threw it away last year

Yeah that's my question too. Stick a SSD in an ancient system and its still reasonably fast. You have to buy a black Friday special at Walmart to get an actual chit tier PC.

When you rip everything you wont ever use out of your install before you install, Windows 10 is actually pretty great.
