Really I don’t think there’s many grizzly (inland) killed at all. Most killed are brown bear (coastal) but there’s quite a few killed. Can get a tag for like $60 as a resident in Alaska I think. They tried to open Montana up for grizzly last year and it got shot down by some judge

sorry bro but it's not at all. People hunt bears with handguns. It happens regularly. They get to fill their tags less commonly because of the inherent difficulty of doing so.

Srs, have you ever hunted?

BTW, your proof is, I cant find a video on YouTube.

I'm doing this in between sets, I must have missed the parameters. Google has quite a few still shots and stories though

Shoot pigs, deer and other pests that are abundant. Leave majestic rare predators alone.

Hoping Montana opens up a grizzly season soon. We need it.

Never had much of an interest in bear hunting. A rug and skull would be cool but I don't think I could eat it. Had bear once and I'd put it on par with a rutty mule deer. And the thought of trichinosis was always in the back of my head

If they were rare, we wouldn't be able to hunt them twice a year

Black bears I imagine. Much smaller and less aggressive than grizzlies

Listen up bloatlord. Its nice that you saw a few youtube videos and had a friend tell you about his uncles hunting buddies dog who head shot a bear with a pistol in 1988, but lets be real here. Handgun bear hunting is exclusively done over a bait pile in a controlled environment where all shots will be 15 yards. Nothing wrong with this if its legal in your state, but to compare that niche subsection of bear hunters to the methods of the vast majority (spot/stalk with rifle, no bait) is disingenuous and shows your inexperience with the world in general.

No hunter who has been in the game long enough dreams about handgun bear hunting over a cut up 55 gallon barrel with peanut butter inside. They dream of summiting mountains, crossing rivers in the dark, putting in multiple 10 mile days all to get that opportunity. There is a romanticism to it, a self challenge.
