Anyone done a solo vacation before?

If so, where did you go & would you recommend it?

Need to take 2 weeks worth of PTO before it resets next month, thinking about Vegas. Also thought about the Caribbean: Jamaica or DR but not sure if they are welcoming to single dudes...

I mainly went to Thailand (best choice at the time), now I would look at eastern Europe and South America. It all depends of what you want out of the experience.

There are places and things that specifically cater to singles - I'd go on one of those tours where you do cool stuff and then party at night. Easy to smash women and have a good time.

I’ve been to like 30 countries solo. Big cities are easier but the time I got drunk in the Caribbean for a week by myself wasn’t bad either.

i went to Scandinavia 3/4 countries solo stayed in hostels, met sloots, partied with randos it was fun @ 23ish

traveling alone is worthwhile, even if uncomfortable at first. you don't have to choose to do it forever but i do recommend it srs

Never done it but will be solo for the first time in 14 years in January, I drop some of my vacay time in May, so sometime in there thinking about 2 weeks and a backpack in Europe.

That or rent a cheap place on a bumfuk island somewhere.

I'm a real introvert and did this once off the end of a business trip and it was utterly miserable. Everything felt empty and meaningless, I just took pictures so it was actually real. Never again.

If you are an extrovert and go touristy gap year destinations your experience may be different.

Went to Hawaii solo in my early-mid 20s…greatest vacation/time I ever had. Met a ton of people. The local chicks knew I was in town for only a couple weeks and they were all over it.

Where did you snorkel? I’m planning a 2 week trip there for 2023 and was looking at Alexandria, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. Any other good diving spots? Or specific recommendations? Planning for dive trips in Greece and Italy further down the line too.
