I dunno. It’s an absolute joke but I don’t mind making money from people who buy this garbage

think of an NFT as your digital lambo, rolex, designer brand, etc. basically anything overpriced but has this sort status to them. You automatically assume the person has some type of money, just like with blue chip NFTs (bored ape yacht club, crypto punks, and cyberkongz) and with social platforms adding verifiable nfts, you're basically saying hey im rich or hey im part of this cult.
But beyond that some NFTs provide VALUE outside of just being a profile pic.
1) If you have an NFT, you get access to special groups in discord where you gain information/knowledge about the next big NFT or crypto before it goes out to the public. like owning a Lamborghini you get access to an app with other lambo owners.
2) you get whitelisted to other NFTs
3) you get 'passive income' from holding the original NFT's. for example for holding a genesis cyberkongz, in the written contract you earn 10 banana tokens per day for 10 years. At one point $BANANA was trading at $100 per coin aka $1000 per day just for holding. There are other nfts trying to do this, cool cat nft, neotokyo (free MINT and air dropped over $50k+ just for holding)
4) NFT gaming - these serve as your in-game character skin + alot more in terms of this metaverse
and probably more i'm missing but these have been the ones i've been in or paying attention to

For example bored ape yacht club. By holding a bored ape it gives you access to a mini metaverse where you can talk with other holders. That NFT gives you something (access).
So for example you could buy a NFT that would give you acccess to a virtual concert that only NFT ticket holders can enter, or meet and greets, etc.
NFTs will eventually represent real world objects. For example you could make an NFT representing your car or house and sell that NFT and that transfers ownership because all the contracts are built into the NFT itself.
The big thing about crypto and web 3 is removing middlemen that do nothing but add additional costs to processes. (think of cutting out the title process of selling your home)
So think more about the ownership utility having a unique item can provide and less about the picture itself.
