What has your work environment been like over this pandemic?

I inspect tradies work so I’m never sure it counts
But we had to wear masks for awhile. I rocked a bandana lol. Less protection and I’d rather look like I’m about to rob a train that look like a ****g0t.

I also worked all but a week when they were trying to claim field inspectors could work from home lol.

In the beginning of the stay at home mandate by our governor, it sucked, I laid off 70 people in a single day because all the jobs were shut down.
Over the next 5-6 weeks, all the developers or institutions made up reasons why their project was “essential to the health and safety of others” so everything started back up and we were at full staff working 2 months of shutting down.

Now it’s business as usual, no one wears masks, even on public school or university job sites.
Tons of work in the private sector because interest rates are so low, developers are leveraging themselves higher and higher since it’s basically free to barrow more money.
Institutional work is a little slow though

I work outside on car lots so exactly the same.

Can't find people to work cause the unemployment benefits. Office told us to wear masks while laughing. Everything is normal except highly understaffed and a lot of over time. Get a lot of free food though from the office though for making things work so they can keep working with thank you notes, weird situation.

We split the the shop up into two crews for a month(day shift/night shift) because we work on hydro company equipment and couldn’t risk the whole shop being out with wuhan flu. After that nonsense stopped we have been working just like normal. A few of our bigger customers had requested us to be vaccinated so the boss said we all were, no proof was ever given and no one had questioned anything.
