I wouldnt want to be drunk ever if we were in a scenario where stores were empty for long time.

Maybe think of things you don’t need, but someone else might. Things you could also barter and trade.

One thing I now keep in my stash, tho I don’t need, is a bottle of baby Tylenol.
Last year when the pandemic hit, another miscer’s child had a fever and was really sick. He couldn’t find any Tylenol because everyone had hoarded it. I have plenty of chewable children’s Tylenol and Advil and told him I’d drive to meet him to give it to him to help. Then found out his baby was an infant and needed liquid baby drops. Thankfully his neighbor had a half a bottle to spare. So now I keep it for emergencies.

Coffee, even more than booze. All these *******s out there with a silent addiction they don’t realize until they go without. Does the double whammy of nostalgia for normalcy plus alertness for any **** that goes down. Plus when you’re out there drinking **** river and rain water it can make it more palatable.

What are you going to do with a chainsaw when the fuel runs out? You're better off with an ax and a handsaw.

and add any and every tool to that list. Hammer...wrenches...screwdrivers...shovel...etc.

A non electric sewing machine...needle and thread

If you're stocking up on food, don't forget basics like flour, sugar, salt, yeast, baking powder, etc. You can still bake in a dutch oven in hot coals.

For bartering, things like small bottles of liquor, cigarettes, and chewing tobacco could come in very handy if you've got extra money to put into a stash of those things.

They also store indefinitely long term for decades.

all sorts of canned meats as well but the shelf life is finite; you'll be able to readily barter with that also

anything needed or wanted by many that you can barter with for things you need

Thing with the ammo is if you stock pile at home that's fine.
But on foot with just a bag 200 rounds would be the max before it gets annoying to carry 10s-100s-1000s of miles
If you are looking to live you are going to want to get away from people so its about collecting food and water and shelter
