Just rode my dirtbike today for the first time in a while I must’ve gotten up to 60 in my neighborhood lol. I have a KX85 right now but I’m selling it to buy a 125 or 250, I’m partial to two strokes.

Also I used to ride four wheelers as a kid and skimboard on the creek while my friends dragged me lol

Be careful with the 2 strokes. Used to own several through the years and it’s almost constant that you have to rebuild O rings and pistons.

lol , probably the easier engine to repair . I could take my 98 KX 250 apart to the piston in under 30 minutes as I’m having a beer .

Repped OP for being a 2stroke enthusiast. I had a KTM 500 exc, and ok , it was a great bike, but no 2 stroke . Can’t stand that slow heavy reciprocating force of a 500cc four stroke .
Four wheelers are for old people , or people who can’t ride ,squids , sloots etc.

Finding a 2 stroke is the hard part . Nothing wrong with KTM though . Yamaha still makes a YZ250 2 stroke to this day , and their cheaper as they haven’t updated it in years .
Doesn’t need any though ,as it’s a proven bike

Repped back brother, the power band on a 2 stroke doesn’t compare to a week four stroke. I’m looking for a yz250 or yz125

If my health was better I’d go full retard and build a big bore 2 stroke . Of all places ,my home town of Calgary Alberta builds a kit to take a Ktm 250 or 300 , and make into a tail bone breaking 500cc engine .
It’s quite an extensive kit, as it’s new cases and cylinder ,and you pretty much just reuse the transmission.
I’ve owned 2 Suzuki RM125’s which I absolutely loved riding . I have no idea how shaving off 15-20 pounds can make a bike feel so much more nimble and light compared to a 250 .
Also owned 3 KX250’s .
But prior to the Kawis I owned an RM465 . Large displacement 2strokes have such an insane amount of power .
There scary sometimes , as when your going threw the gears all of the sudden your doing 90 mph,and you don’t realize it till you try to slow the dam thing down .
A 250 is a good compromise though, and doesn’t destroy the rear tire on one ride

Depending on the type of riding you do, the KTM 200 EXC (discontinued in like 2017 or so) is a legit bike if you can find one. They are more of an enduro type bike and have a wider range transmission that is great for more open riding than you might do on like a track. Great power for the weight/size.

I used to ride about 15 years ago, both dirt bike and quad.

We had a few red sticker, two stroke, but living in Southern California it was such a pain in the butt to ride since you could only ride so many months out of the year.
