Anyone still go to the mall?

It was always GOAT during the holidays and felt seasonal. Haven't been in years though. Now it's nothing but a nightmare to find parking and 99.9% FOB Hispanics, Dindus and punk ass teenagers.

no racist, just an observation.

Our nearest mall became ghetto AF over the years. Last I heard, half of it just became ghetto clothing stores, foot lockers etc. Bunch of unsavory characters just loitering around. People harassing you every so often srs

Not sure how this happened. It's like the normal people only shop online now, but the ghetto folks didn't get the memo

It's sad but true. I try and avoid big crowds now. Too many people all over the place and it just raises the potential for trouble and liabilities. Not to mention limited parking and potential damage to my vehicle.

I go to the grocery store either early in the morning or late at night when it's dead quiet. For everything else, I shop online when I can. People are unhinged these days.

Yeah, there used to be one (a Simon) in my old hometown that I went to A LOT back in the day. Passed through there a little over3 years ago and stopped by...wow it was dead. Pretty depressing tbh.

In the last decade or more, I could likely count on my hands the number of times I've been to a real Mall (I'm not counting little strip places/shopping plazas or the like) - and several of those times were simply going to a restaurant that was in one.

ironically that doesn't stop the demographics I mentioned. These are the same crowds at amusement parks paying $500+ for family tickets and over priced food/water.

Doesn't make any sense to me anymore.

They really were GOAT during the holidays. All decked out for Christmas with Christmas music playing. Felt so seasonal and was a cheap/easy date idea too.

Same. We have one nice mall left and it’s like 30 minutes from the city, another county over. That’s where the upscale stores are still open. The other malls are either literally empty or becoming abandoned, or just like you said, hood AF. Those ones are like walking around a sketchy neighborhood the way panhandlers approach and scammers try to sell you chit.

Most cities have moved away from the shopping mall model in favor of these outdoor “lifestyle centers” that are like simulated city neighborhoods built deep in upscale suburban communities.
