Gym rushing you out before closing?

Anyone know that feeling

Basically felt rushed at the end of the workout. Gym closed at 8 and I got there at 7pm. Turning off music at 745

Some lady told me the gym was closing at 8 and I told her I knew that in the middle of my workout

Now feel cucked because I skipped doing a few minutes on the treadmill. Granted it’s minuscule but I Wanted to get my step count up. Usually I’ll courteously leave at 755

Misc what’s your take?

these poor people aren't making much money. and you have selfish inconsiderate customers who will abuse the system and stay later than closing time. hence - i don't blame them for dropping hints at 15 minutes to close. next time get there at 6pm if you don't want to be rushed. same goes for a restaurant. customers are selfish.

to this day i still see guys lifting dumbbells while standing at and/or leaning on the rack. older guys that should know better but just simply don't care and have no self-awareness. don't be that guy.

I get that point but at my job if I have patients of damn well. I regularly work an extra hour and that’s life

I don’t mind leaving on time but don’t like being rushed out early

"friends"? really? you shouldn't do it if you're making them stay late because then you're an a$$hole and they may not want to tell you. these people don't make a lot of money and they rightfully want to go home after a long shift not cater to your selfish needs.

these people make like $12/hour and work long hours at a terrible job. customers abuse the system and stay late when these people want to go home. dropping hints at 15 minutes to close is not rushing you out. in fact, you should have the self-awareness to be out by then anyway where these hints aren't necessary. are you the a$$hole here? YES.

No, they are pretty serious about it. Honestly they are getting fired up on preworkout 30 minutes before the shift ends. They switch over from the crap music the owner makes them play to all metal ass soon as the clock passes closing.

I'd stay and lift with them if I didn't live 45 minutes away. These guys are literally friends BTW, not just people I say HI to when I drop by.

What kind of an adult male counts his steps?

Kind of a douche move by them, but I understand it as someone who used to work retail. Even though a place may "close" at a certain time, that doesn't mean that the workers just get to leave. Sometimes there are a lot of things that need to handled after hours, and having to shoo out people when you want to lock the door is annoying. I've never worked at a gym, but I'd imagine there are definitely tasks that have to be taken care of before the closers/employees can leave. Still though, you did nothing wrong and leaving at 8:00 p.m. would've been perfectly acceptable.

She left before they were even technically closed. Not 2 minutes after me

Listen. I got a bunch of you selfish Boomers in my gym. I know your type. Lifting at the rack, walking around naked, brushing your teeth and shaving at the sink, taking shiits and showers every day, and harassing the front desk staff.

Don’t sweat it. They should be telling people in advance because there’s always unaware members. Also the desk person might not know/remember you.

8pm is absolutely ridiculous and you shouldn't enable that by giving them money. Switch to a 24 hour gym
