Ho lee chit weddings are a lot of work.
My bro is getting hitched this weekend and just experiencing what everyone had to go through to plan and execute this stupid ceremony is exhausting. Rehearsals, dinners, getting tux's, wedding favors, dealing with the church politics, guest lists, dresses, music lists, all sorts of other random crap.
Not even that big of a wedding, maybe 50 people but so many moving parts and so much drama/bullchit. Plus the princess syndrome that girls have with weddings is absurd. I swear they live for this moment and now with social media, it's like life or death.
I was already on the no marriage/no kids train but this experience certainly solidifies my decision even further.

If you really need to put half your net worth plus future annuities on the line for someone to stay with you and "love" you forever then I got some bad newz.
Irony is that even if you want to do that and want to skip the wedding and just go straight to the courthouse/elope, you can't because these sloots want the wedding and the pictures and social media attention and everything.
I know it's discussed here all the time but fukk that chit. Not to mention if it's not perfect, you'll hear about it for the rest of your life.

It's better to invest it or put it towards a house. Something that would really benefit a relationship rather than a stressful day.

The planning is supposed to be a group of effort. You, the girl, your family, her family -- you're all supposed to chip in the time & money so that no one is overwhelmed

It's really only as much work as you want it to be dead fkn srs. You don't need all those bells and whistles.

Did traditional wedding the first time. Can confirm nightmare. A cousin of mine did it perfectly years ago. Ceremony on a beach with just 2 friends there, threw a party months later. No stupid frilly crap, no speeches or stressing about tablecloths, no kunty bridesmaids. Just a good party.
Yeah Buddyyy! Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

Just went through it as a best man and I thought that was stressful, the planning was bad though and if it wasn't because it was my best friend I would have told everyone to fuk off.

I spent $1500 at a resort in mexico and they did everything. And it came with the dinner.
Everyone had to travel and pay the cost to go but it was literally zero work on my part and it cost me hardly anything.
Everything was A1 as well. Nice decor, great food, wedding right on the beach. Everything was 10/10
Would recommend.
I wanted to get married locally but it would have cost me 30-50k and every hotel wanted to charge my guests $600 a night and they had to stay a minimum 2 nights.. fukk that chit. Scam artists.

Everyone I know who got married just did some small thing or just went to a church or courthouse one day and signed all the paperwork. I'm all for a small ceremony but if I was engaged and my fiancee wanted a whole princess day I'd draw a fat line in the sand.

If I ever do get married. I'm doing it the ghetto way, in a small venue that does everything for you. I don't give a fukk about that fancy crap. If she's not down to have a catered meal/party at a Dave and Busters or something, she ain't the one. (Ded fkn Srs)
