Shapiro had an interesting take....they landed on Omnicron because the next letters were mu or nu, which sounds too much like "new" variant and people would confuse it with the old delta. They also didn't use Xi because they wanted to avoid added criticism of Xi Jinping, lmfao

I would have sworn that variants eventually got weaker and didn’t effect people as severely, but every time I watch the news it’s more contagious and deadly lol .
Funny how the Spanish flu was a variant of Covid, yet there was literally no sign of it two years later .
Our governments seem as though their claiming this is practically the beginning.
I say we go on living our lives as normal , but for those of who are still so afraid of the China flu, lock yourself up in your house if it makes you feel better .

So if we are all vaccinated to the delta variant, we might not be protected against the omicron variant. So its good that we get info about it, otherwise we would not be prepared, and hospitals would be overrun.
This whole narrative of covid being a joke would change very fast once u see old and fatcels dying outside hospitals because there arent any beds available.
To my knowledge, there is no lockdown in usa. and travel ban was unneccsary. But those decisions were not made by 'corporations'. (many big flight corporations are hurting btw)

I agree that the emerging of variants should not sound like news, after all, as you rightly said, viruses like this mutate all the time.
In this sense I believe there are two main reasons for all the media speculation:
1 - Generating views (clicks)
2 - Trying to influence the unvaccinated to get vaccinated through pressure.
In any case, we cannot let this make us think that everything related to the virus is a lie or an exaggeration. We still need to take care of ourselves and do our part.
