what's the main critique of 2042? I've played countless hours on 3/4 and played a little of bf1. Haven't pc gamed at all in a few years but looking to get into something casual that reminds me of bf4

Maps way too big, even for 128 players. Some flags are oddly empty and quiet.

Map design is boring and bland. I never played much, but there's vasts amount of space everywhere on the few maps I played.

Major lack of guns. I think there's 22 total. Battlefield 4 had 84.

Destruction is terrible and barely existant.

No scoreboard. I imagine this could be patched in, but nah.

UI is TERRIBLE. So confusing navigating through ****.

Most of those could be fixed through patches, ultimately the maps and destructive really need attention.

The maps are too damn big. Other than that I don't see any problems with the game I just can't stand getting sniped or blown up every time I walk in the middle of the field

Yea bro give it a try the updates have fixed about 70% of the major issues, still more work to be done but having a blast with my boyos. If you buy through steam or Microsoft Store Digital Code you can always just complain and get your money back if you don't like it.

Yep, updates have fixed my problems, game no longer crashes; I've been having a lot of fun playing solo. Too little patience for MP, so it scratches the itch for a large scale shooter but without the annoyance.

TL;DW: all of the previous battlefield devs took their experience elsewhere, management told new devs to copy what was successful, which was apex and warzone. New devs didn't know how to work with frostbite causing delays and the overall trainwreck

No excuse for AAA games being released like a pile of dog**** requiring copius amounts of updates to fix after launch. No excuse for a game with no campaign as well lmao. Just no excuse at all.
Glad it got a ton of backlash. Hopefully the next installment will be treated with better care because in the end who actually wants a beloved franchise to fail? Everyone wants it to succeed and you have to point out the bull**** so it hopefully doesn't happen again.
