So people cant just buy a brand new Ferrari?

Damn, strong exclusivity, I thought if you have the monies all you have to do is just walk into a showroom and buy one.

https://luxuryviewer.com/can-anyone-buy-a-ferrari/

https://www.motorbiscuit.com/no-matt...a-new-ferrari/

some choice quotes:

In addition to most purchasers needing to prove they have owned Ferraris before, age can be a factor as well, as many dealers won’t sell to purchasers under the age of 40.

While buying a standard new Ferrari can be tricky enough, that difficulty increases tenfold when it comes to getting your hands on a limited-edition Ferrari. While Ferrari are particular about who obtains their standard models, they’re far more so with regards to who gets to purchase limited editions. Even if you have the required money to pay for it and a history of owning limited-edition Ferraris, this won’t guarantee you get permission to buy a new one. Often the purchaser needs to have built up a relationship with a Ferrari dealer over many years and to have visited the Ferrari factory in Maranello.

If you own a Ferrari you will be invited to exclusive Ferrari functions and events. You’re expected to attend these gatherings to soak in everything Ferrari. The expectation is to drink the Ferrari Kool-Aid at these functions, too. To get on a waiting list for a limited-edition Ferrari you must own at least four other Ferraris.

The Ferrari blacklist is real and one way to get on it is to badmouth the brand as 50 Cent did recently. He’s now on it. Ferrari also expects you to be toned down and not flashy. A cease and desist will land in your hands should you cross certain lines. Speaking out online or calling attention to yourself-especially while driving in your Ferrari, will result in being blacklisted.

Unless you are some troll looking, no class, nasty as fukk mumble rapper who will immediately do a painjob that will make the car look like a bedazzled buttplug and the crash it soon after while high on crack. Nothing builds exclusivity quite like they do.

You can blame eurotrash, hoodrat rappers, and ***** camel fookers for that.

Actually, the exclusivity goes back much earlier than that. I think Jay Leno has a video about it on his garage channel. As a young comic, he looked at buying a Ferrari and they basically treated him like chit, so he decided then and there he wouldn't ever buy the brand.

I think cars at the higher level are often almost the same as high end watches where they control production to keep values up and you need to give your AD a reach around while nibbling their earlobe just to get on the waiting list for exclusive models

Pretty sure chit like Koenigsegg / Pagani is almost invite only

As mentioned previously its the rare cars. You can buy lower end Ferrari's no problem especially if you skip the dealer. A lot of the higher end cars appreciate in value. And/or allow you access to exclusive clubs.

From what I understand you buy super cars to network with other ultra wealthy and secure business deals and stuff. You don't buy a 1 million + dollar car because your an auto enthusiast. You buy it to hang out with other people that buy cars in that price range.

It actually makes perfect sense.

Modern automatics are in almost every way superior to manuals unless you are a pro which you aren’t.

So it sounds like a country club but instead of golf it's cars. They aren't Toyota. They aren't interested in mass producing their products for whoever can afford them showing off thinking just because something is rare or expensive it's a status symbol. A lot of people with high status have status symbols but that isn't what gives them status, because that's what people without status think gives status.

Superior at being unreliable, heavy, unattractive, boring, over complicated, played out, soulless, and practically led us to vehicle automation. I hate them. They suck.

The new ones are junk anyway.

I'd go 1972 or older.

The 458 is nice, also the 355. Other than that, no thanks jeff to newer models.

I could be wrong but I think what some others said is true, this is true for the higher end Ferrari's.

You can probably look like a young bum and go buy an entry maybe mid level Ferrari new as long as you can afford it, but the higher end ones aren't just sold to anyone.

It's only the ultra rare ones that u can't buy without an invitation and u previously spent millions and millions on Ferrari. I think also Ferrari make their clients sign some kind of agreement that u can't flip the car once u buy and gotta wait awhile since these rare cars the vip members usually able to get them at msrp prices. But the ones on the websites I believe u can walk in and order one. But these days most if not all fancy cars have crazy high ADM. But this also goes for all exotics that are rare and limited. You'll have to be an VIP and have spent millions on previous cars.

I like the new 992 porsche GT3 in manual. It's hard to get an allocation. And they are going for 100k ADM. So a 200k car becomes 300k+. U can still get one if u willing to over pay

There's a pandacel businessman in California who is on Ferrari's chitlist, but he keeps getting these VIP cars through back channels that Ferrari is trying to clamp down on.

There was some info floating around where they were suing people (or threatening to) doing this and posting pictures online of it.

Sounds like Rolex, patek etc.

If you can actually go to the website and click “add to cart” , your product ain’t exclusive enough for the elites

I think it's what they have to do to remain relevant. Keep the special models more exclusive. They're creating a whole new market.

Rolex does it as well. You gotta jump through a lot of hoops, be a regular buyer of their product and such. Imagine being somewhat elite, but not elite enough for the Ferrari or Rolex you want, just lol
