Dr. Oz: Fauci should be ‘held accountable’ for misleading Congress

Dr. Oz says it’s time for Dr. Fauci to take his medicine.

Mehmet Oz, the medical entrepreneur and television host now running for US Senate in Pennsylvania, said he would like to see Anthony Fauci removed as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases — a post he has held since 1984.

“Dr. Anthony Fauci has lost the faith and confidence of the American people,” Oz told The Post. “It’s time for a new face talking to the American people, one that is more trusted.

“I believe Anthony Fauci should be held accountable for misleading, whether willfully or unintentionally, the American public and the United States Congress,” Oz added.

Oz threw his hat into the Pennsylvania GOP Senate race last week, looking to fill the seat being vacated by retiring Republican incumbent Sen. Pat Toomey. David McCormick, a hedge fund CEO, is also eyeing a run. Scott Parnell, a Trump-endorsed candidate, dropped out of the race in November.

Fauci has come under growing fire in conservative circles after telling Congress that the National Institutes of Health — his parent organization — had not funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The NIH later corrected Fauci. Many experts believe coronavirus originated at the institute.

Some Republicans, like House GOP conference chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, have called for Fauci, who remains in good standing with President Biden as his chief medical advisor, to be prosecuted on charges of lying to Congress.

Oz also spoke to The Post in an online interview about his belief that Black Lives Matter undermines black communities.

“I do not support the actions being taken by the Black Lives Matter organization and its leadership. BLM has the wrong approach at every level,” Oz said — adding the movement had “incit[ed] violence and property destruction.”

“While our Constitution protects the right to peaceably assemble, anything that involves rioting, looting, or destruction needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Oz said. “We need to support law enforcement and provide them with the tools and resources they need to do their job of keeping our communities safe – including keeping dangerous criminals off the street.”

Oz said he is against teaching Critical Race Theory in schools, calling CRT harmful to race relations.

“We should not be teaching or telling students that America is inherently racist. We are stronger as a country when we stand together – not divided on racial lines,” Oz said.

Dr Oz has been full of shiit, talking middle aged women into believing ridiculous claims but I’ll give him credit on this. Fauci is far worse, I can at least believe dr oz thought he was giving good advice whether it was beneficial or not was hit or miss. Fauci is a tyrant and should be in prison.

Ok, this is a topic I'm willingly open to legit debate and converse.

When I did nails(like actual nails on your hands) I was one of the rare Asians and nail tech to strive to be the best nail technician(Yea I know it sounds lame but its true). This lead me to do top tier research(this was the beginning of my claimings of being a top tier researcher). In my quest for knowledge, I came across this polymer scientist who works for a company called CND. They are the best in the business in terms of nail products. Most salons will avoid this product because it's expensive. Anywho, this scientist studied the nail very deeply. And he's extremely knowledgeable. The company that he works with had the rare funding to carry out good research. Long story short, tries to address many myths that surrounds the nail industry because most nail technicians are not educated people. Yes, they have to get a nail license but the information in it passes right over their heads. And to be honest with you, I don't see how most nail technicians even have a nail license because most of them can barely speak English. Anyways, this scientist, because he's in the nail industry, called up the OZ show to debate him on some of the segments he had on nails and if nail products are harmful. Basically, Dr OZ is a huge ****git.

Oh, and I'm getting quite sick and tired of some you uneducated ****gits talking about Dr Fauci like he's a fraud too. Dude, most of yall hold a fkn high school degree. Shut your damn mouth.

He graduated Harvard UG and Penn MD/Wharton MBA. His son attends Columbia's MD program. Smarter guys exist. Fauci is not one of them.

There have been several people who have called for Fauci's resignation.

If you could turn back time [20 years?] to when Oz was a practicing physician making guest appearances now and then on TV shows he seemed alright and to mainly be someone who did an okay job of presenting health and science information in a simplified manner.

But then he had his own show and episodes to film, time to fill, and he began giving equal credence and airtime to all kinds of random stuff, which is fine for a women's magazine cover trying to grab the attention of people at the checkout stand, but not a good look for a qualified and trusted professional.
