Yeah I saw a ton of homeless camps on my way to SantaCon. They keep the tourist areas free of the homeless, though.

I've seen streets full of tents and tweakers in SF as they give them free medical care and cell phones.

Yeah they've cleanup up the homeless in Union Square and the Fisherman's Wharf area. It's horrible in other areas throughout the city.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to live there.

San Fran is a dump and they need to clean it up before they take on more social welfare programs.

The money they get from the toll bridges in a day should be enough to fix some ****. Wtf are they doing with all the money?

have they cleaned it up in the last 3 months? I go every 3 months, well I used to. Husband union is there, and I would walk everywhere there. I hate the roads and parking -.-

I stayed in union square a few years ago for work and it was a dump, and that's saying something when my job is in NYC. The homeless are agressive in SF and followed me for blocks whereas in NYC they mostly leave you alone. Can't imagine what the city is like now with all the Black Friday shopping going on across town

I asked a muslim guy that ( I think he was egyptian). He said it would be like if you went to the Appalachians and decided to move families who have lived generationally in that region to Orange County or someplace completely culturally different.

thats why they dont do it.

I think because its hard for westerners do distinguish between minorities its hard to see the small but significant nuances.

Hmmm, I go there every couple of months and I didn't see any homeless in Union Square yesterday and I haven't seen any homeless in Ghiradelli Square or Fisherman's Wharf. But I'm usually up there for special events, so they could clean up the area. But damn, the rest of the city is scary with the homeless camps.

Oh wow. My friend was just in Reno. I'll ask her if she's still up there.

The homeless situation is sad as many are mentally ill or drug addicts, and they don't want to go into shelters are they don't allow dogs and they are drug and alcohol free.
