Yeah it’s a disappointment in comparison to Vegas. Yet it’s cheap so many of my family members are moving there from California. I don’t get how you can go from weather and views that are paradise to that, other than the fact that it’s close to Tahoe, which is also a beautiful place in California.

Biden has a network of hundreds of hotels across the US being used as "migrant" housing. They looked for hotels that were either temporarily shut because of covid or recently went out of business. The feds paid the hotel owners big $$$ to rent the entire building and turn them into housing for illegal immigrants. There's one in my town in a very expensive area (Scottsdale). So in the blink of an eye, this administration has busses to transport the "migrants", they shuttle them to medical appointments, free food, free hotel rooms, they're giving birth, etc... Meanwhile, US Citizens are left to die in the streets, straight up homeless and begging for money. And even a year in to this administration, thousands of "migrants" are walking across the border on a daily basis. They won't stop it because the plan is to push for 'amnesty' citizenship in the future (I'll guess by 2030). When this happens, it's literally over. I can't think of anything more insulting as a US citizen than this bull****

They use the word "temporary" in the headline, but I'll bet this place will be running at full capacity for all 4 years of this admin. I haven't seen a single update or news article on this subject since it opened.

It's just a sad place tbh. It barely snows there, but stays cold enough to keep whatever snow there was around as grey slush. So warmer months you go from brown mountains and scenery, to cold months of grey slush or dirty snow at best. People are trash there too.

And crime has been steadily climbing, and here's the fukked up story as to why gang activity has grown the way it has, and funny enough why they have the bay area to thank for it lol.

California has (or had when I learned about all of this) an 8 year wait list for section 8. The work around, at least back then, was to move to a state that has a lower wait time, get on it for a year, and then you can move back to whatever state and jump the line for section 8. Reno was getting flooded with people from the bay area doing just this, but with them came all their gang chit. A vast majority of the gangs in Reno can be traced back to Oakland, or Richmond, etc. Sometimes the families would move back, but often times the degen gang bangers would stay behind because they could look at starting something out there...

The only good thing about Reno is Hot August Nights, and even that's a stretch.

The city I grew up in has hella afghans... Even has a neighborhood sometimes referred to as Little Kabul... I think going back to the 90s it might have the most concentrated American Afghan population

I've grown up around them my whole life and I've never had a problem because for the most part they blend in with all the Indians, Chinese, Filipinos and other immigrant minorities... Everyone respects each other they they gotta have their own part of town and own festivals and **** and everyone is fine
