So I want to like this.

I’m still going to watch it. I have waited over 20 years for these books to be turned into a movie.

I watched them give Perrin a wife then have him murder her and understood why even tho I hated it.

I shrugged aside them pretending like the dragon could be a girl or a boy.

I ignored the fact moraine seems to be the main character, that they have enough diversity to actually make nations of different people interacting and build a realistic world but instead chose to make it a rainbow across the nations.

But for fuks sake turning Siuan and moiraine into lovers, giving them a traveling type ability so they can go fuk in private. It changes the trajectory of the story, is detrimental to the difference in power from age of legends with traveling etc and current day, and in general mucks up a lot of chit. It’s one thing to shove your agenda down my fukking throat but then to make it so seriously detrimental to storyline…

Yeah it's pissing me off how much they are deviating from the source material and trying to make it their own. Because it sucks as a result.

No idea why they did that whole episode about the Warder who died. Who cares? Nynaeve isn't supposed to really come into her powers until she's in the tower and even then can't control them. Perrin having a wife and killing her isn't even necessary. Shadar Logoth and the Ways was condensed into ten minutes of story when they were a fundamental part of everything.

Apparently they had to recast Mat for Season 2 so that's part of the reason why he's gone. But it makes zero sense for us not to know where he went.

I'm still watching, but preparing for the cringe of the Blight and the fact they are probably going to have him fight the Dark One instead of one of the Forsaken.

I've only read the first 2 books so I'm sure I won't catch all the changes they're making but yeah some are definitely annoying.

I didn't expect a scene for scene translation from the books. Some changes I can absolutely understand because they have to fit everything into however many episodes. Anything I've seen where I can say "oh ok that gets them from point A to B in the story faster than the way it happened in the book" makes sense to me.

But the absolutely pointless changes that contribute nothing to advancing the story quicker.....wtf? Perrin having a wife and killing her? What does that accomplish? The Dragon potentially being a girl? That could only be because of muh feminism girl power.

In regards to the OP, I thought it was actually insinuated in the books that moiraine was a lezzy and such relationships were common in the tower. Pillow friends

I'm gonna keep watching but I'm barely hanging on. If season 2 doesn't get better I'll probably stop.

Yes pillow friends was a thing but no both Siuan and moiraine have people they are going to be with in the future and need to.


Perrins wife was done so people could relate with his inner struggle against committing violence/killing. They most likely assumed people wouldn’t see how much killing a white cloak effects him. It takes away from the idea they are all young in experienced lads setting off on a journey. Same as say Rand and egwenes adult relationship.

Barely made it through the first episode before I stopped. Not only did they butcher the story, it’s an obvious political statement. F these commies.

Netflix did the same to the witcher. Amazon is doing the same too the middle earth show Will just torrent and hope everybody else follows suit. I don't mind multi culturalism when there is logic too it but take the black hobbits for instance. There just isn't a logical reason for them to exist. Same with some elves just randomly being black in the witcher. I find it amusing the same people who complain about cultural appropriation want to force themselves into lore based of European folklore.

I gave it a shot because I enjoyed the books.

But I should have known better when they turned half the cast black in the previews.

Every episode triggers me, the production quality is horrible and most of the casting choices are idiotic. But I'm gonna keep watching this dumpster fire until it burns itself out

Nynaeve was supposed to be the hottest of all the girls and they casted some black girl with a two megaton forehead and a hairline that starts at her scalp.

And they skipped a big portion of the first book just so they can have a dyke out session.
