Yeah I've been to the Tower a couple of times and to a number of castles around the country–especially the South East.

Rome & Istanbul are two examples where I was far more impressed with the ancient history. Although it is unfair as they are two very special cities in world history.

Nah, NYC is the GOAT city to me. That's the standard most people measure against.

De Blasio has done his best to ruin the city but hopefully the new mayor reverses the trend come Jan.

I will say the safety of London for a city of its size is very admirable. Not once when I lived there did I feel genuinely unsafe, even the bums were friendly lol.

London is a dump, as is the majority of the UK.

Lake district is the only thing worth seeing there.

Go to Ireland instead

No, I've been to most European cities..London is truly just a dirty dump and not even worth a single visit. Sorry you're upset.

As a reference, Antwerp, Munich and Amsterdam were all very nice..would visit again.

What is this obsession with 'historic buildings'? Most Londoners live outside of the historical cities of London & Westminster so there isn't much historic things of note.

Every other major European city has as much history as London.

Also the amount of KFCs and their knockoffs in London was shocking/amazing. On many blocks you would have multiple fried chicken/kebab/pizza stores lol. Curryhouses too!

London is a great mix of old and new especially for its size, really aren’t a lot of cities in the world like that. The dozen of times I’ve been there I’ve always found something new to experience and have never had any problems.

London was a great city once upon a time. It no longer exists. Londonistan took its place and you might as well skip it on any visit to the UK.

Imagine the very worst of San Francisco, Karachi, Bombay, and Lagos rolled into one and that's Londonistan.

If you’re in your 20s you would want to actually be in Dalston or Streatham.

I worked for a pretty big multinational while o was there and I don’t remember many people living in Mayfair or Sloane Square. I’m in my 20s so if you’re older that makes sense.

Your comment is like me claiming the Upper East Side is the real NYC lol.

‘We’ maybe if you’re black or to a lesser extent Hispanic.

If you’re white the homicide rate is closer to Europe’s than it is to dingers.

I actually made a mistake. This was not a cheapshot at London because I live here and I don't dislike it.

This thread was more of an "apart from working/watching stuff on the PC and meeting girls for sex, I don't see myself doing anything else" doesn't matter if it is London, NYC, Jacksonville, Paris, Toronto. srs
