Eat 3 Big Meals or 6 Small Meals?

I’m probably just being impatient when it comes to fat loss. Wondering if I should split up my meals/snacks into 6 smaller meals a day timed out every couple hours. Here’s what my 3 meal day looks like

Breakfast at 11-noon:

Overnight oats with one scoop whey protein
2 hard boiled eggs
Oikos yogurt

67g protein

Lunch at 1:30-2:

6oz chicken breast/thighs
1 cup broccoli

50ish grams of protein

4pm: workout with 15-20 min of cardio

7:00pm dinner:

6oz chicken breast/thighs
1 cup broccoli or 1cup of jasmine rice

50ish grams of protein

Usually my protein at the end of the day is around 170-200, carbs around 150, fat around 50. One gallon of water throughout the day.

Trying to shed this lower stomach fat, but it’s stubborn as hell

Whatever I want that is the right amount of calories and generally a decent amount of protons and fat. Obviously you can't order dominos or get a triple burger from Wendys but you can have a lot of variety that way.

I lost 100 pounds eating 2 meals a day several years ago.

I am thinking of trying to cut 10-15 here soon that I have put back on and am probably going to do 1 meal a day and a midday snack.

Seeing family over xmas is throwing a wrench into that though

Everyone is different. Some people can go as far as OMAD. Others like to have frequent small meals, up to every two hours.

Whatever works best for you (in terms of sticking to it, as Katya said) is going to be the best.

I do find, personally, that when I am cutting I have fewer cravings and am less tempted to binge if I have more frequent meals. Knowing there is another meal to come has a solid psychological effect.

So if you ever find yourself finishing your day's worth of calories and you end up snacking or binging, maybe eat more total meals each day so you can eat later.

I’m not starving by no means with breakfast at noon, lunch at 2 and dinner at 7 with no snacking. Just getting pissed I can’t lose this stomach fat, but I’m not very patient.

Is the number on the scale changing? If not, then changing number of meals won't change anything. Changing calorie intake will. And the only way to get that stomach fat to go away in a timely manner is to make that number on the scale go down.

Going from one extreme to anothermighthave an effect of some kind (like people who do OMAD switching to 8 meals per 24/hrs, or vice versa). But honestly my man going from 3 to 6 isn't gonna affect anything in terms of metabolism or fat burning. That's almost entirely unproven gym bro myth.

Doesn't really matter for most people. I prefer doing 4-5 meals just because of my caloric needs and it's easier on my digestion. Meal timing/placement only matters when you're a competitive bodybuilder/physique model, ect.

It's call about calories. Just make sure you are accurately measuring your food, and you know how many calories you should be eating to lose weight.

Get hungry? Eat a 120 calories sandwich.

Right before bed? Eat something small to avoid going to sleep with hunger.

All my meals are tiny on a cut. The only ''big'' meal is dinner. But that's 100 grams of rice, some veggies and meat. I'm not full after it, but going on a cut means you're never full unless you do IF.

Want to lose fat faster? Lower your calories or do more cardio. When you eat is irrelevant and merely a personal preference.

Scale is absolutely meaningless. if you work out while on a cut, you can still gain muscle. muscle weighs more than fat.
You can lose a ton of fat, gain muscle, and still weigh the same.
A mirror/weekly pictures and a measurement tape is bigger help than a scale.
WTF do you use to make a "120 calorie sandwich"? I'm assuming it's not what most would typically think of as a sandwich, since in most cases 2 slices of bread alone will exceed that.

No problem man. Just keep at it, don't lose patience (you see that in yourself, which is good, cause you can address it as being a difficulty in this process). Repped for workout/diet thread.

It's funny because the first part of your post was very similar to mine, regarding utilizing smaller frequent meals to stave off hunger.

But then you went full potato and are pretending like a normal person, with a normal hormonal profile, will build muscle and cut fatsimultaneouslyat a fast enough rate to be noticeable(which is what the OP was referring to). Especially in a caloric deficit. If the OP's focus is to lose that stomach fat, a caloric deficit with measurable decrease in weight will be the fastest way, hands down. There is no arguing this. Body recomp. in either a deficit or surplus is possible when making very slow changes, but there is a reason why natties and juicers alike all do anactualcut going into their shows. The type of cut where they lose weight. It's because it is faster and more efficient, and honestly trying to do something else is just silly if you have a particular goal in mind rather than just 'Ey I wanna be more fit'.

The difficulty increases substantially once a person is no longer a new lifter, or when they have reached a certain bf%.

Edit:

Doesn't taste like much, but it stops my hunger on a1600 kcaldiet. That's all that matters. You can add some cucumber for extra flavor or spices.
'Ah, it makes sense now. Should probably go do some more research my man. If you're at a point in your lifting career where 1600kcalisn'ta deficit, then you don't have the knowledge or experience to discuss this sort of thing with such an absolute certainty.
