Srs. You mean to tell me that lines wouldn't work just as well? People aren't gonna accidentally go driving on a sidewalk, and if they want to drive on a sidewalk, a small curb isn't gonna stop them. Ridiculous industry costing the taxpayers BILLIONS while the concrete company special interests get richer and richer.

id love to see some links that expose this corruption. I can confirm, my last house was in a historic neighborhood, we had sidewalks and no curbs. everything worked out fine.

This. You only need the curb where you have underground storm water systems....the curbs direct the water to the drain basin....or where it would otherwise provide protection from water seepage into structures. They're used a lot for aesthetics/landscape maintenance as well.

Do you really think a 6" curb is going to stop a car from popping up there?

in my old neighborhood the road was rounded slightly, as usual, then the sidewalk was level. there was a slight dip, a water channel, before the side walk. it worked perfectly at directing water and was certainly not a curb.

Strong this.

I mostly see lack of curbs in the country or areas with a small population.

I lived in an area with a mediumly dense population that grew too fast. No curbs, only ditches, and there were constant drainage issues.

When used with underground water drainage systems in concrete jungles, they make a lot of sense.

How are you going to curb stomp someone if there are no curbs?

I guess OP has never noticed the nice big black rubber marks left on curbs from people not paying attention to what they're doing, or being drunk, or being a woman, and running up against curbs all the time.

Literally just go drive for 60 seconds in an area that has curbs. There will be scrub marks all over them from people hitting them.

The curbs may not be big enough to stop a car from legitimately running up onto it and hitting someone/something, but that *bump* when someone is just being an idiot and they kiss the curb is plenty to get them back where they are supposed to be.

Did you not read above? Plenty of cost-efficient solutions to these "problems" that don't involve forking out billions to big concrete.

So? What would be the problem if it was just a line painted and someone was an inch or two over the lines? You really want people to incur BILLIONS in damage to their tires and wheels?

Sounds like the tire and wheel lobbyists have gotten to you.

My YouTube videos have already been pulled down. They can’t do this to us. They can erase me, but they can’t erase the truth. It WILL prevail.

I've been doing research on this all day. The rabbit hole is DEEP. Some guy named Curt keeps getting implicated.
