Is fender stratcoaster a good starting guitar?

I want to play drums more tbh however I find it not possible to play it because I live in apartment with very thin walls and dumb neighbours so Im thinking kf getting a guitar.

Personally I would love more gibson sg however I feel its too pricey for a first guitar so Im thinking on getting a fender strat.

I would try to learn some classic rock, rock roll and blues like chuck berry,stevie ray vaughan but also acdc and black sabbath

I had a strat. Very versatile for different sounds.

What sort of price are you spending?

I wouldn’t spend Gibson prices on your first purchase either.

I think paying $1k for your first guitar could potentially be a be a huge waste of money…

I wouldn’t recommend it.

Just bought me a Stratocaster from guitar center last month. I ****ing love it!!! Been playing everything from Gibson, Schecter, Ibanez…there’s a reason many musicians use it

I agree if you got the money that is a good starting point.

You can also get a Les Paul Studio used on Reverb or an SG Special for around a grand.

My first guitar was a mexi-caster, second guitar was a Les Paul Studio. Night and day different action, neck quality, neck thickness, ability to stay in tune, etc...

Believe it or not I am old enough that LP Studios were $550 when I got it lol. They are about $1,600 new now.

Get a bullet strat from fender. Affinity etc are for ****gits ded srs. Bullet beats alot of guitars and only costs a 100€, has a slim neck. If youre looking to drop some cash get a mexican strat but dont get a american, youll be paying 1k for a label.


The setup plays a more important role than the guitar. Chitty setup american strat is balls compared to a well set bullet.

I'd recommend you get an epiphone, better for heavy rock riffs. Fender Strats have single coil pickups they're not very heavy sounding, more geared towards leads.

What kind of music do you want to play?

I bought a $200 Ibanez for my first guitar nearly 20 years ago. That thing is still a blast to pay. It was a Gibson SG clone, it's model now made under model AX120.

I have a Les Paul and the main difference between the guitars is the things you don't need as a beginner.

A lot of people get into this hobby and lose interest after a month or two. Don't waste the the money on a full-on Strat.

Get a beater, learn on it, and get something nicer a couple years down the road if you're still playing. Besides, you're doing to drop it, ding it, scratch it, etc. Best to learn on something cheap. srs.

Fenders really do play and sound great.

If you want to play more leads, Fender is a good choice.
If you want to focus on heavy riffs, you could go with Gibson, although they play stiff as hell.
If you want crystal clear but heavy riffs, Jackson or Ibanez got great jagged tone.
If you want something smooth and buttery, LTD and Spectre are great.

The issue is: how many people buy a guitar then give up after 2-3 months.

If you want to be a good musician you should probably play a little bit of everything and then figure out what type of musician you want to be. I get it we all want to be the lead guitarist, but seriously how are you going to lead if you dont know basic rhythm?
I serious think a 100 dollar acoustic is a good option to learn on, if you can play decent on that you'll be good else where. If you're gonna spend a G probably at least half of that should go towards an amp, maybe a 10th on study material, then the rest on a cheaper guitar.

An American strat is definitely not a starting guitar. It's a great guitar all around but remember it has single coil pickups. While it's a versatile guitar, if you're looking to play harder rock or metal, it might not be the best pick. Honestly, I'd probably get the SG if it were me. Then again, if your preference is nice clean sounds, funky riffs, stuff like that, the strat is great.

PRS is another good choice.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*

It's a great option but I think a Telecaster would be better..I think you can find one for 1k
