I don't understand how all these people are not working and still able to live???
Sure, quit your job; cut off your nose to spite your face; but we better not be paying these people anything if they quit or lose their job due to poor work performance.

take it from someone whose been there, done that. wood not advise at all.

not trying to hate on you here since fuk, ive done it myself based off 80/20% emotion/logic but with what i know now, unless u have a job waiting on you as in hired with start date, handing in a resignation based mostly off feelings is the most girly, b*tchish thing any man can do ded fuks srs.

i mean think of it, you literally throw away ur source of income and financial stability...? youre literally opening yourself up to become indigent, divorced and in desperation mode.

ask yourself whats more important, your financial goals or some trendy b*tch move on reddit.

It’s mostly dual income households with 2 professionals who realized one can stay at home and the net difference isn’t that large because they won’t pay for childcare anymore.

Covid accidentally taught everyone about frugality.

Its a life hack that has allowed me to live extraordinarily comfortably for over a decade now on WELL below 40 hours per week of 'work'

No idea what its like in other industries like hospitality, but I know in engineering, people are indeed resigning to work for different companies. I know many people who left their jobs this year because they didn't want to work 5 days a week in the office, and now they are doing the same function at a company that is 100% remote. We can all have our thoughts on if 100% remote work is sustainable or not, but I work for a company that is used to seeing ~20% YoY growth in employees and we can barely hire new people this year. 22 year olds generally don't want to work for companies that are 100% in the office, its just unappealing to many people.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that article is just saying that the 'great resignation' is overblown because people should have a new job offer before quitting their current job, so there isn't actually a 'net loss' in employees in the workforce, but they are still indeed changing companies.

Which begs the question, who the fuk just quits their job without having another job offer in hand?

My wife almost quit her job because we realized we could easily live off my salary and her job sucked. But I don't like my job that much either and we're both in the travel industry, so there's still a solid chance we'll get laid off. Decided to stick it out but neither of us gives a lot of fukks anymore.

Just lol @ companies who let their people "work" from home.
I promise you, promise, that production/output is half, at best, from "work from home" employees. (inb4 someone posts some cherry picked/altered "report" showing otherwise)
All of these people are doing chores, yardwork, or posting cat vids on FB

The most fukked up thing about these *******s who say they don't want to come to work (because we're all scared of covid, right??) is they are the same ones who will rub elbows with 300 random people in Walmart or the grocery store that same evening. It's fukkin BS

no different than circle jerking around the water cooler or kissing your bosses ass 8 hours a day. nobody does 40 hours of pure work in the office anyways.

i’d argue at least half the time spent in office is bs wasted time anyways id rather do chores at home, workout, etc. than check-in to adult daycare 40 hrs a week.

While this is true, think about how much busy work is automated by software now. The newest era of tech is moving way faster than anyone imagined. Companies will adjust, and work from home is just 1 step in that adjustment.

I quit my job, I was miserable. To this day I still want to do very mean torturous things to my former boss. Except those things are illegal.

Anyways, found a new gig that pays me 33% more in my base salary alone less than a month later. Things ain’t bad.

Just do the thing, and let the universe figure it out for you.
