If you find yourself living in a “clown world” it might be because….

(No hover)

…you’ve surrounded yourself with clowns.

This is because of “salience bias” or the human tendency to place more emphasis on recent or immediate experiences.

Some clues you have created a clown world for yourself:
-you’ve only spent time in a country that has largely embraced woke ideology (eg USA)
-you work in a low-income, menial job with other people of little to no education or low IQ, who have little else to talk about than pop culture and regurgitated msm talking points
-you work in a “professional” setting but in a role that requires little or no critical thinking or judgement to succeed
-you access much of your information about the world in a way that is filtered based on what you’ve previously accessed

The good news is you can de-clownify your world fairly easily. Some recommendations:
-become educated in some field
-enter a profession that requires a high level of critical analysis and reasoning (finance; law; quantitative economics; etc) with other educated people
-enter a profession that is not beholden to the adoption of ideology that is irrelevant to the function of the company (eg self employed trades or contractors)
-travel and spend time in countries that are not cucked by western ideology
-access media that is not curated for you by an algorithm- better yet, read a book
-expand your social circle to include more affluent and educated people (when I say educated I mean actual pursuit of knowledge, not made-up things like gender studies or some bs)

TLDR: if you complain about “clown world” you may in fact be the chief bozo

EDIT: Social media has given a megaphone to a lot of idiots, including of the woke/SJW variety. If you find that social media is rage inducing, just quit. Other than staving of boredom, what value is it adding to your life?Just quit it. Use the time to read some Dostoevski.

Your advice is good but overall this is a pretty dumb take. I care about my society at large, not just my immediate circle. 99% of the people I interact with share my views, the problem is that my wider society does not, and people generally don’t like living under such conditions. As an Australian you are in the exact same situation, don’t bother trying to deny it.

If "Clown world" has invaded pretty much every single institution in your country, it isn't your fault you notice it. There is no excusing the work of Cultural Marxist, post-modernist terrorists. They are genocidal lunatics stuck in a cult.

I’m not justifying it. I’m explicitly acknowledging it exists (albeit with a somewhat cringey name)

My post is trying to explain:
a) why it impacts on you and
b) steps you can take to mitigate that impact

If you think about it, on the cosmic scale clown world has already failed. In a chaotic newly formed universe, eventually that chaos failed and orderly life sprung up, directly contradictory to the entropy/decaying nature of the universe. The chaotic clown world we have now is just the human reenactment of the universe evolution and just like the universe was put into order, human minds eventually will be too.

Quantitative economics (econometrics) is largely maths and statistics.

In any case it doesn’t have to be science.

For example (good) Computer programmers are often trained in formal logic which helps understand everyday life

To clarify, I’m not saying you can change the world, merely how you interact with it. This in turn will influence your perception of how bad the problem actually is, as well as your overall enjoyment of the simulation.

Re: Australia, it hasn’t gotten as bad as the US, which is where all this started, but I take the point it could.

Therefore, I will continue to live hereonly so long as it continues to represent a net benefit to me and my family.

In any case, by consciously choosing my professional environment, neighbourhood and social circle, as well as media consumption, I find I have a more balanced view.

I have tried to explain the same thing before. If you live in the clown world you're the only one to blame.

Yeah let's just gtfo out of the US, our beloved nation, because of the wokeism we're supposed to stand up against.

I'm voting DeSantis and probably doing local campaigns for him in 2 years.

Wish Tulsi would run as a moderate republican and take the VP slot on that ticket.

Read the OP. You don’t have to migrate, just spend some time in a non-woke country. Nearly guaranteed to broaden even the most closed of minds.

This. Burying your head in the sand is no better than agreeing with it. I choose to openly reject it at every turn. Its not even bad where I live as I’m in a red state, but like all things left unchecked it will spread if we let it. I refuse to look the other way when the future is at stake personally.

I work in finance as a professional, the majority of my clients are very successful people, no less than $1m in investable assets. The rest of clown world at work surrounds ME, and while in general I agree that reading books is alright, they're a pretty slow way to consume knowledge.

You can't ignore it. I live in California. I go to a park and parents have 5 year old kids wearing masks. I read a magazine and every advertisement is a black guy with a white girl, a tranny or an alphabet couple.

Every movie I enjoyed as a kid has been remade into a garbage woke peddling nonsense.

Racism was declared a public health emergency in California last year.

Summer of love 2020. Rittenhouse trial. Vaccine/mask mandates and boosters.

I'm sorry man. I wish I can just shut my brain off and isolate myself from clown world but thats not the way. Clown world exists and and an argument can be made that it spread because enough people didn't fight back when it was spreading and chose to ignore naively hoping it wouldn't effect them.
