I might take a job in SF, how fukked am I if I'm not vaxxed? Small company so employer doesn't require vax, but I'm reading there's a mandate for all the fun chit like bars. The city website also says you can show a picture of your vax card if you don't have it on you - so can I just photoshop it or something? Do they verify it somehow?

Offer is 225k base + options, which kinda makes me wanna say fuk it w/e, but I'm pretty sure I can find a similar gig elsewhere. I also wanna be able to smoke ganj in peace for once so there's that

You should get vaccinated obviously. The thing you gotta remember is not to do this

In the entire US, SF is probably the last place you want to be if you're unvaccinated

This is the city that forced in n out to close for a day for not enforcing the vaccine mandate on their customers, which they eventually complied with

What do you think your small startup will do if literally a single employee or their spouse complains to the city about letting their employees work unvaccinated

The city can change their rules at any time... It's run by idiots who are now punishing restaurants for building their own outdoor seating when the city literally gave them no other choice or guidance

I live in the sf Bay Area and almost every place you go wants to see a picture of your vaccine card and some even compare your ID to the name on the card.

Though I will say most social venues just take a quick look at your vax card on your phone

And I’m sure at some point sf will require all companies to be vaxxed no matter what size.

I live in the Marina in SF. Its the best part of town. What exactly do you do to make that much money before 30 thats crazy! And you shouldn't move here to be honest you need to be vaxxed for everything.

Yeah there's a mandate to show proof of vax to eat indoors, bars, gyms, etc. OR negative test. They just mandated masks indoors again, after lifting that for a week for the vaxxed.

No they don't verify authenticity of the card, but there's an app. You can take a pic of the card on your phone and show it with your ID and it's fine.

My experience is that 75% of the time they check, a few places doesn't even bother especially if they're busy.

Take the offer, put in a few years and then get out like 99% of all other transplants. Like a poster said above, the Marina/"frat" Mason/cow hollow area and nob hill are the best areas to live in.
