If you take the full word: Miscellaneous, which is pronounced "mis-cel-la-ne-ous".... Misc would obviously be pronounced "Mis".

Misc has become a separate meaning away from miscellaneous and has its own identity making the "take the full word" bs irrelevant. Say "Monsters Inc", then say "Incorporated", both out loud, to see another reason its irrelevant.
