Reminder: if you use the term “Marxism” or “Marxist” as an insult…
The following things are true:
a) you’ve never actually read the works of Karl Marx
b) your IQ is 80 or below
c) perhaps most ironically, you are trading hours of your life (labour) at a price (wage) which represents an ever diminishing share of profit
Spoiler!
Inb4 “bUt mUH COmMunIsM” lmao

describing everything you don’t like as “Marxist” is roughly as intelligent as when liberals label everyone they don’t like as Hitler

Any professional in finance or a guy who has it going on or whatever wouldn’t even know this term as an insult lmao

You should share 80% your wealth then OP. Limit the amount of properties you can invest in and give the rest if us your money since you support it so much.

Is the model even possible in reality? Or is it more of a tool to overthrow power structures and centralize power?

Marxism shows the power of brainwashing in humans...
Doesn't matter how daft and anti human nature its tenets are, proponents will bury their head in the sand and continue to cut their nose off to spite their face.
Same types of people who think free market capitalism exists when corps and the guvmint are one in the same. "Ignorantly stupid" doesn't begin to encapsulate their ailment.

IIRC there was going to be something done to prevent “too big to fail” firms and the resulting socialism when they don’t manage their risks properly
Whatever happened with that

Marx was smart. I have no idea how he managed to predict boom-bust iterations of capitalism.
That being said, he underestimated how capitalism/free-market economies can reform themselves.
Also, his proposed system does not take into account the greed of human nature. Key ingredient.

My first problem with Marx is that he lived off the labor of the factory workers that his friend employed.
He was basically a retard spoiled cry baby moron fatty, and yes I have read his stuff and about his stuff more than OP, I am from the Soviet Union and I’m old, lol
Op, People like my family came to capitalism from Marxism, notice how it never works the other way around, there’s a reason for that,

if the country used public money to bail out private companies to protect them from the consequences of their own poor risk-management, that’s not capitalism

OP doesn't realise Marxism as he understands it doesn't exist.
Marxism is not an economic system, it is a tool of manipulation. The Marxist manipulation is to teach people that there are two groups in society, an oppressor group and an oppressed group. They then get the least agreeable of the so called oppressed group and the most agreeable of the oppressor group to support them.
The end goal is to achieve power and wealth by manipulating people. Which is why all Marxists countries end up as a oligarchy.
The groups can come in any form:
Workers - capitalists (the original)
Women - Men
Black - White
Gay - Straight
This is why OP doesn't understand why Marxist is an insult. He thinks Marxism is about improving the lives of poor people, when it's really about splitting society and then using manipulated people to achieve power.

- Availability of labour
- Productivity
Capitalism has vastly increased the standard of living of 'poor' people.
If you increase peoples pay through unions, you decrease their productivity. Decreased productivity results in inflation, inflation disproportionally impacts poorer people while making everyone poorer overall.
Ironically your solution to help poor people actually hurts them. An unintended consequence of having a low IQ.
The only meaningful way to improve peoples standard of living is to increase their productivity.
