As an introvert myself you will like recognition for what you do but being put in the spotlight doesn't feel good. Like you want to be respected but not praised. It's like this, he was a sensitive guy, and he couldn't handle the life, but didn't want to let others down, not just the fans but imagine if people around you, people close to you, all depended on you to make it. Pressure can be there. Drugs and alcohol don't make things better. You turn to them to cope but that only goes so far and after a while it doesn't work anymore.

Successful, wealthy, accomplished people often kill themselves which should serve as a lesson to all of us to what's important and thinking that more money will make you happy doesn't actually work.

US raves suck compared to European raves. The only exception to US raves being awesome is if they're "underground" like in abandoned warehouses or out in the middle of nowhere.

Other than that raves in Europe are legit and anyone and everyone goes regardless of age. Ffs electronic music was born in Europe. I'd love to go to transmission Prague or untold. Now, those two are legitimate raves.

Can't remember where but I read an article about his GF and she seemed a bit toxic about the fame too. Saying he had changed and she didn't recognize who he was anymore, but I forget all the details.

But yeah, looking back, he'd have been better off to stop touring and become a ghost producer type. Who knows what kind of contracts he signed and everything that went into that. Everyone knows record labels are toxic as fuk.

Because it changed him doesn't mean he was enjoying it. Maybe it was just how he had to cope. I think it can change someone as in damage them in a way they can never go back to normal. Also I thought about this. Imagine your life's passion, something you live for, something that becomes your everything, grows into something that consumes you and eats you, to the point it's destroying you, but you can't make it stop because it's apart of you. It said he stopped touring and such but it seemed like it didn't fix it for him. Oh, and depression can really magnify things 10X.

I'm not a fan, not really my type of music, and didn't know who he was until I heard him mentioned in someone elses song. I just remember looked up the name and saw it, then they showed a pic of him and it wasn't what I expected. Like this dude is the GOAT DJ/EDM King and yet he looks like his name should be Adam and he works in Accounts Receivable and you mitght catch him at starbucks on the way to work.

Idk the full story, but alcohol is a horrible drug if you abuse it. Combine that with god knows what else he was taking, it's not a good formula for returning to normal.

Wasn't really a fan myself of his music other than Levels of course lol

He's just another victim of getting too famous too fast without wisdom on how to cope with it. Happens to almost everyone. He just wanted out. Most celebs never go through with it, but plenty have.

The scene moved away from big room/progressive house because they got massively overplayed over the years and people just got bored. Feels like big room is gonna be making a comeback soon though especially with Hardwell returning to Ultra so that's something to look out for if you're into that sound.

Everytime Hardwell plays some hardstyle recently people go nuts. Some of the big room guys like him mix different genres in, dubstep of course being the most popular.

Festival / big room trash destroyed those kind of shows and watered down electronic music big time..

avici was always decent though even though I hated to admit at the time.

trance and good deep house/techno will always be around though but mostly in smaller shows. Would love to go to a trance classics show at a venue like tomorrowland for feels
the only music even I ever went to was for tycho a few years back. Was awesome

I really thought hardstyle was going to take over more around 2015, especially when QDance started having stages and shows in the US, but then it seems like it kinda died off before ever really getting started.

I was told by an attendee of Untold that she bought tickets to a "Festival" not a rave.

Well i like "Dance music" so it really depends on the song, the remix, and the creativity of the creator.
There are so many types on that website that i posted earlier, that anyone cand find something to enjoy.
