I actually got hired into a startup by a family member. Been doing that for the past 7 years, while managing an Amazon business on the side.

I manage some IT managers / heads of IT at the moment, I know it's a hot field but I can't stand doing it, I'd rather rope at this point but kudos to those who can do it and thrive in it, mad respect and they deserve the salaries they command

Apply at the local IBEW.

Brb pension, health care, union pay and earn while you learn

Something I'm considering since I work with electronic stuff atm. Obviously an electrician is way different than regular electronics but still.

I used to do office cel bs. Somedays I do wish I was back in an office but I do like the satisfaction I get when I fix a problem and can instantly see the results.

It's pretty dull, but my compensation relative to the amount of effort I put in is awesome. BRB $115k base for ~2 hours of work a day, sitting in meetings on mute, Apex, and miscing.

The problem is that I have nothing going on in my life outside of work, and I just don't have any passion to workaholicmaxx.

I worked in a Gov office my late teens and early 20s for four years. Never took advantage of it and always wanted to go back. We had a starbucks downstairs and other place like Einstein Bagels and I would just go wonder for a few minutes taking a break to watch all the hot sloots. Office work was boring, but it felt so refreshing leaving work and hanging out at the local pub or with friends. Had a ton of energy so always wanted to get that work out in.

Man I miss that chit.

Remote life is fukking awesome but it can get boring and being home all day gets old after a while. The best is probably office life but with cool coworkers that are actually fun to hang with. Throw in the flexibility of a day or 2 remote per week to take care of stuff at the house and you're golden. Usually pretty rare to be able to get both of those things though.

I'm also a bored officecel. My coping methods are: hire HBB's and bro's that you don't mind spending time with to be and negotiate a share option so that I care a bit more on results.

How do officecels cope with working 5 fcking days in a row?

I think I could only survive the office life if it was part time.

This, but I would add that genuinely enjoying the work you do is another way to stave off office misery.

Without good colleagues or enjoyable work, office jobs are the worst kind of jobs going. If being a burger flipper or janitor paid the same as a low-level office job, I’d much rather do either of them.

Yea I’m terrified of working in an office full time again. Would consider it part-time, but full-time I’d have to have some kind of guarantee that either the work is interesting or my colleagues were decent brahs.

Can't imagine being an officecel in 2022.

You get one short life, make changes and improve it. That's my advice.
