I was talking to a girl on Tinder 10 yrs younger than me who called Foo fighters "Classic Rock."
Made me feel old.

Anyways, Dave Grohl is a genius and The Foo fighters were basically the benchmark for post-grunge modern Rock. IMO their best work sounds pretty original and unique to them.

I don't understand the Nickelback hate but their 2nd album was pretty big in Canada and had some solid heavier rock tunes (think Bush with just a touch of Canadian Prairie twang). Chad then came out and said he basically wanted to be more successful and studied radio hits incessantly and began writing songs with that purpose in mind, hence their change in sound began and they were labelled sellouts.
To his credit I don't think he cares about the hate he gets because he's filthy rich and so what if he wrote the best radio music he could rather than what rock purists wanted.

This is why the Foo Fighters best hits transcend generations while Nickelback's don't.

Never understood why Foo Fighters were so popular, srs. As much hate as Nickelback gets and as much as I'm not a fan of them, I can still name more Nickelback songs than Foo Fighters. Never hear Foo Fighters fans talking about their music either. Weird.

Can't stand Foo Fighters. They are like a bare template of what rock is. So generic and overrated, I can't stand it.

The fact the Foo Fighters have a movie coming out soon has really got to piss the OP off.



Dave is a pretty decent guy and really seems to care about fans and entertaining them. Seems to be a thing a lot of the incels around here can't understand.

Yeah I agree, never understood Foo fighters universal acclaim. They have a few good songs but always seemed generic to me.
I attributed that to me just not 'getting it' but now that I'm older I think it's just because Dave Grohl was a media darling rather than Foo fighters being anything special
