This is never discussed there and no way am I signing up for reddit.
When you buy a call or a put, you simply don't exercise it if it's out of the money. How are these morons losing their life savings and then some? Are they writing the options?

longterm investments
These kind of inves. vary in type from etf's to cfd's etc , within these type you have different instruments you can invest in, could be commodities,fx,indices,crypto
And these investments couldbe done with leverage or without leverage , meaning you either buy the entire stock and you pay full for it aka own it
or you buy in leverage aka you invest 1000$ but your leverage will be $200,000 depending on the ration 1:10 / 1:100 etc etc
