It's pretty heinous coop was delayed significantly when they promised they'd do it after the reaction to halo 5.

the game came in hot. They probably focused their resources in the year delay into where the game would see the most benefits (core gameplay and polish). Chris Staten has talked about his pitch to MS leadership and what he wanted to focus in on during the delay, and they succeeded with that.

Still a disappointment though. Game would be so fun playing through with a friend
