Going to bars alone and sober anyone done it?

I’m going to blow my brains out if I spend one more Saturday night alone in my room. I’m alcoholic with 1.5 years sober was thinking of going to some nearby bar sober and maybe maybe just play pool or practice getting denied cold approaching. Any sober bros done this? I’m fairly outgoing but will probably still be awkward. I’m getting 0 matches online dating and don’t know how to approach gym sloots

Yes. I was sober too. Met a chick that digged my sobriety and we stayed together. Eventually she talked me into drinking and I forgot how awesome it was. We are still together but she hates that I drink now. Anytime she mentions it I remind her of how much she wanted to see me drink. Didn’t believe that my normal was a fifth and a case of beer an evening 😅

Don't go to a chitty bar...

Get dressed nice and go to a 5 star hotel bar or expensive restaunt that has a bar.

A cola is cheap even at the Ritz. Plus they usually have good food so get a burger, drink your cola and have a nice dinner. When hbbs show up go talk to them.

It's a lot easier to deal with rich bar drunk people than dive bar drunk people when you're sober.

It's fun and if nothing comes of it at least you got to people watch a bit and had a good meal.

Not sure if srs lol. Fuk had an ex that talked me into drinking before too. Ended up horrible after dating 2 years

Why don’t you go out during the daytime and meet people more on your level? Meet a girl there and maybe you won’t spend your nights alone. Assuming you don’t drink for 1.5 years for a reason, playing with fire going to a bar.

If you play with that kind of fire you are going to get burned boyo. If you don't want to be an alcoholic again, dont' go hang out in bars. Srs.

Do some online research. Look into hobbies you are interested in. You'll probably be able to find some hobbyist group in your area. Even if it sounds lame af, at least you'll be with other lame af people..

FUk I know alcoholics who use AA as their social network, even if you don't need AA.

Join some gym classes that both men and women do instead, probably can find one on a Saturday/ Sunday AM

Going out late on a Sat, leads to not waking up early on Sun, which messes up your weekend time
