US President's Press Secretary...

What is the point of a press secretary? I understand what their job is, but isn't their job part of the President's job - to go out there and front the press? I know Trump also had a press secretary, but no one can say that that he didn't front up and take questions from the press and held press conferences all of the time. I just do not understand why the president is "allowed" (that is, why isn't the press questioning why a press secretary is trotted out, rather than the president himself?) to hide behind a press secretary, and not face the music for his decisions. Anyone know?

I just don't understand why members of the media don't say to her - or any press secretary "why are you here? Why isn't the president here answering questions regarding his decisions?"

I agree. I wish a reporter would just say to a PS "Who the fuk are you? Where's the president? We'd like to ask him these questions."

Major companies' CEOs/executives/directors are not elected by the general population to make decisions that will affect the country and themselves.

I don't mind a press secretary as long as the president also gives press conferences frequently like Trump did.
The problem is with Biden I've seen way more of Jen Psaki than i should have needed to.

She also is a disgrace to all redheads out there.
