Anyone else miss the early 2000's so bad?

No cellphones and no social media. Such simple times.

Phuck yeah, just the 00's in general, and it's funny because about a decade ago I was talking about how the 00's sucked and the 90's was such a better decade.

It's just that the 10's were so awful, and the 20's are such garbage, that the 00's seem like the last real decade when we had a real culture and lived out lives in reality as opposed to obsessing over social media and smartphones. I mean it was the last time when you could go out to a concert and everyone was just listening to the music, enjoying the moment, nobody was trying to record it and chit. Simple things like that, being able to go out to the mall and it being a fun and active atmosphere. You could just go out with friends and not have to be in check with people 24/7. People were generally more open to connecting with strangers. Kids these days don't know the feeling of freedom we used to have. So much freedom has been lost.

The 00's weren't as good as the 90's but when compared to how awful the 10's and 20's were...the 00's were pretty great.

We had cell phones but not smartphones.

I miss the music and people were happier back then.

Yes, but I was born in 1998 so I was very young

But the world definitely seemed a happier place then. More mystery and optimism

Now it’s just a bunch of people staring at their phones waiting for the next dopamine hit

Hit the nail on the head with this one - world seemed bigger with more of that mystery rather than knowing everything about everything and everyone constantly as well as not being threatened constantly for having an opinion

And even though 9/11 changed things, it still brought the country together. Now look at this chithole. Everyone hates everyone.
