GDP per capita is a good measure too that kinda gives you an idea of the likely wealth across a population
China is even worse off than Russia, their overall GDP is high only because they have a population of like 1.3billion

Russia is pretty farked by all means. Big country with a lot of resources and a rather intelligent educated society. Sounds like it has a serious management problem. Russia trying to be a big man on campus is a joke. This whole Ukraine thing, even if they do invade, in the long run, they are going to lose because overall war is economic. It's how they lost the cold war and yet Putin despite being a rather smart leader doesn't seem to get it. That's why we are shipping supplies to Ukraine because we know that even though Russia will be able to drop an initial hit, maybe invade, they will simply fade out in a prolonged conflict because they simply will not be able to keep their cause supplied.

wow china is almost equal to US. It would be interesting to look at the numbers over the last 30 years and see how rapidly China grew as well
it was sometime around late 90s when all electronics started moving out of japan and now china makes everything

Like some friends of mine. Nice house, and the kitchen was fine, fully functional, not nasty or anything like that, original to the house built in the mid 90's, but they spent $25K ripping the whole kitchen out and having all new stuff put in because "it was dated". The thing is they had a hard time getting financing for it because their credit card balances are so high. They paid her Honda Pilot off a few months ago and now looking to trade it in even though there is nothing wrong with it. This is just one example.
Here I am driving around a 20yo pickup truck. Trans went out and getting a new one. People say "you could take the price of that trans and use it as a down payment for a new one" yeah sure, and then keep making payments. I had a new truck not long ago and sold it taking advntage of this market, pulled my old one out of retirement. Sure, got to put a trans in it but it's done.

You can see the real reason why America is constantly criticizing China. But times are changing...

Despite being a close ally of the US, Poland will not join the international diplomatic boycott of the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in China, a senior Polish official told Reuters. On the contrary, the countryโs president will attend the games and use the opportunity to hold bilateral talks.
โPoland is a sovereign nation and decides its own politics towards China,โ Jakub Kumoch, the foreign affairs adviser to President Andrzej Duda, told the news agency. โPoland is an ally of the United States but Poland also has a very friendly relationship with China.โ
The report saidPolish officials believed that it was โno longer in Polandโs interests to continue criticizing China simply to please the Americansโdue to a turn for the worse in US-Polish relations since President Joe Biden took office.

One thing I noticed about Europe is that you can go to a PUB/BAR and the prices are very reasonable while here in the US any Bar charges a lot more for everything and then the bartender and server wants a TIP. LMAO talking about $3/beers like it is some kind of deal. So basically only 2-3X as much as it would be if I went to the grocery store and bought a case?
