God dam, the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs simulation is eerie as fck

16kms wide
Equivalent to 9 million tsar bombas

Imagine being able to see the asteroid in the sky a year before it wipes you out, slowly getting bigger and brighter as it gets closer. dinobrahs prob saw it every night thinking it was just a pretty star.

Then it hits mexico, vaporizes the Latino dinosaurs, sends a tsunami everywhere else, sends a trillion tonnes of molten dirt/dust into the atmosphere that cooks everything further, raising the temperature to like 100+ degrees Celsius

Fckn brutal

Not all the dinosaurs died. Birds are literally dinosaurs. They are the descendants of the dinosaurs that survived. So when we eat chicken/turkey we're eating dinosaur meat. Sometimes it feelsbadman to eat them after all they've been through. But dino meat tastes so good 🦕

Scary part is knowing if another comes for us, there's absolutely nothing we can fuking do. Also, nothing we can do about supervolcanos like Yellowstone. The day they decide to erupt its game fuking over.

Wild. It blows my mind we're sharing the same planet as Dinosaurs who roamed free 66MM years ago. Albeit with a ton of geographical changes.

And we wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for the asteroid. It was the killing off of the dinosaurs that allowed mammals to flourish.

Crazy thing is that the killing off of the dinosaurs was like the 4th extinction level event of the planet

Someone should travel back in time and record the actual event simulated. We have no clue it was actually like in the videos.

I wish the dinosaurs had thought of that tbh but they had very small brains to create a weapon/shield/etc to avert/destroy an asteroid. Sad.

Surprised it doesn't happen more often with all the random chit flying around in space.

Imagine a firecracker in the palm of your hand, you set it off. What happens? Burn your hand.

Close your fist around the same firecracker and set it off. Your wife’s going to be opening your ketchup bottles for the rest of your life.

I watched it before. Quite interesting that you could see it coming for that long of a period of time , and not knowing it’s doomsday soon.
I suspect the impact could be heard at the other side of the earth

This and this.

The only reason why people think asteroids are real is because they "believe" in science.

Notice how the term "believe in the science" is relevant today?

That's because science is nothing more than a religion.

People wigging out about a virus with a 99.7% survival rate. People wigging out about this climate change. Although these things are "rare" they aren't that rare in the grand scope of things and if they happened it would be the end of everything as we know it. Imagine in the future after it happens, the people who survive (probably a whole new species) will look back and realize that we had the technology but didn't even try. Yes some people have proposed to do something and get told "that's sci-fi stuff". Maybe humanity doesn't deserve to survive honestly.
