I got a friend who had anxiety problems before service, goes to bootcamp, has a mental breakdown. Now he get like 70 or 80% for life and he was only in bootcamp for 2 weeks before they medical dropped him. Pretty ridiculous that he gets like 1800$ a month for life and never even got close to seeing combat.

I collect VA disability for my PTSD
People that get 100% have it made, 0 property taxes in most states if not all, you can get your student loans forgiven by sending them your disability benefit rating letters, DV plates to park in handicap spots, some areas like in central texas allow people with DV plates free access on tollways.

The only time I think it's messed up is when people are somehow granted disability for some stupid chit like claiming PTSD for falling off their top bunk in bootcamp or because they were close to some area that got attacked and weren't in combat. You'd be stupid to not play the system if the opportunity comes up. It cost absolutely nothing to file for disability lol. 80% is the sweet spot.

Or you could use your brain and realize he was probably harassed beyond a reasonable amount and they wanted to avoid a lawsuit.
