"Them Bones" is one of the GOAT songs ever
I was going to say "GOAT rock songs ever" but I think it's a GOAT-level song for any genre. It's so tight and focused compared to most stuff out there. It only lasts about 2 and a half minutes but every second counts.
On another point: what happened to white brothers? They used to be cool.
"Them Bones" is one of the band's most well known songs. Ned Raggett of Allmusic called the song "a brief, tightly wound explosion of sheer, inescapable riff power, focused and relentless" and added that "having made its point in two and a half minutes it stops — not a note is wasted."
On another point: what happened to white brothers? They used to be cool.

One is the obvious, it's too short. The second is the fact that Layne's vocals are fairly subdued. It's mostly just harmonizing and Layne singing quite normally. I love hearing his voice when it's at its unique best with that haunting sadness or belting out notes that you can feel reverberating through your body

I'm just a sucker for more stripped-down, tight and focused tracks. For example, I love "Rusty Cage" more than "Black Hole Sun."
