He isn't as practiced talking about his beliefs as he has been in years past.

IMO it is a result of him trying to be the podcast host instead of the guest.

Still I am enjoying it. A lot of my more liberal beliefs came about from him and his tangents make me curious.

After his hospitalization there is a notable decline in the quality of his work and increased monetization which puts me off.

His previous work is solid though and not many mainstream sources nowadays that allow empowerment of men.

I can handle Peterson for like 10-20min then he starts to annoy me with his tone. Probably because he's a teacher and you notice that a lot in his way of talking. Will check out some clips on Youtube later if they're not censored again.

I believe he's a clinical psychologist yet he's gone through plenty of mental problems himself. Also he teaches original gender roles but his daughter turned into a sloot. I've seen a lot of people chit on him for that in the past.

Never understood this line of thought.

Peterson has never set himself up as the ideal. IMO he views Jocko Wilink as very close to the ideal.

He is creative and high in Neuroticism and got hooked on prescribed meds while his wife was handed a death sentence. Not something I would recommend. Nor something he would recommend, but it happened.

Just the same he presents a very nuanced view on societal roles and statistical distribution backed by good scientific studies. I don't have to agree with everything he says or does to gain value from listening to him speak.

Actually I have C difficile for 4 years (funnily enough, so did his daughter for many years) and regularly help people to get treatment when doctors failed them. Many that have had it and cancer said the bacteria was far worse. My advice has cured several people of an illness they had for months/years that were lied to repeatedly by con artists like Jordan Peterson (psychologists/psychiatrists/doctors). If my wife got cancer I would find ways to treat it or support her the best way I can, not become a fukin lil bitch and prescribe myself mind altering medications to make me less of a pussy.

I too could have sold them fraudulent supplements, self help bullchit advice and anti depressants for my own financial gain.

And you want to talk to me about empathy. Thanks for the neg you fukin pussy, I hope if you ever get sick you fall for the psychology con and get coked up on antidepressants from con artists like this. Just fukin lol at oblivious dumbasses that see this clown as a role model.

I don’t even think it’s completely from lack of empathy, though that certainly plays a role. I think a lot of people with those criticisms just don’t like the message. They prefer to live in a world where they can convince themselves they’re a victim so they absolutely hate hearing people preach a message about taking responsibility for your actions and path in life. So they just find the first thing they can to try and negate the messaging in order to maintain their current worldview.

Because I fukin hate psychologists and psychiatry, as it's just useless humans who failed at their own lives profiting off the misery of others. The whole field has led to the downfall of modern medicine where every genuine illness can be attributed to stress and anxiety by conmen like this making chitloads of money. Case in point, life gets tough so this ****g0t gets so sick from antidepressants he has to go to hospital overseas while his wife is dying from cancer.

His whole schtick is being a role model for soyboys in today's society yet when life gets tough he doesn't act like a man, he takes the easy way out like a little bitch. It's akin to me taking heroin because my wife developed cancer. He also put his daughter through years of antidepressants and "doctors" when she had a fukin bacterial infection in her gut all along causing all those symptoms. When she had treatment to address the bacterial infection rather than the "psychological symptoms" (the bacteria's toxins cause neurological symptoms) she felt euphoric like she hadn't in years.

I know most of you will never share my "edgelord" mentality because you'll likely never have to ride the doctor carousel of "how's your stress and anxiety, have you tried antidepressants?" when you're very ill, but the whole psychological field, antidepressants and chit is the most toxic fraud industry ever, and this dude is promoting it through his own actions.

Never understood the fascination with JP. He seemed a reasonable dude when the trannies or whatever tried pestering him in the beginning but then apparently he turned into a big e-celeb like the rest. Bought his book to see what his deal was but had to drop it after 60 pages or so.

No, his message is often great, I don't like his actions that contradict his message. Brb life gets hard so overdose on mind altering medications rather than facing the problem like a man, you know, the thing you preached and built your entire career around.

I have empathy for his wife and daughter who both got deadly infections while pseudointellectual daddy with his fraud degree was likely telling them it's all in their heads, here try some benzos to forget about it.

I even believe he might have good intentions but is unwittingly promoting the very thing that is destroying society. Antidepressants mask genuine problems and illnesses that could otherwise be cured if the person wasn't convinced it was "all in their head". Many young people commit suicide while on them and that's why I fukin hate these snake oil salesman kunts like no other.

This is actually quite a common occurrence among clinical psychologists. The awakening, discovery, and change you experience when exploring and attempting to understand the evil that humans, including yourself, are capable of can be life altering. srs.

His daughter has had a rough road herself. She's had severe depression probably caused by the amount of pain she's had to endure with childhood rheumatoid arthritis. This probably has messed with her quite a bit.

No, she had C difficile that was misdiagnosed for years, she cured herself by taking FMT (poop pills) to restore the bacteria that inhibit it. Her whole life of illness was likely caused by antibiotics prescribed by a doctor. I knew from her first few videos describing her symptoms thats what it was. I know this from my own experience of never having depression until I took antibiotics for a cold and developing chronic diarrhea since. That antibiotic, Keflex is now the #1 drug implicated in causing the bacteria to overgrow and become pathogenic. I also know this from also doing FMT pills and the depression completely disappearing instantly as my gut problems disappeared as well.

So basically she had an infection and because of her dad being a psychologist went through years of being treated as someone with mental problems when there was a very well known and studied toxin producing bacteria causing all her symptoms all along.

I knew a guy who was 34, an Ironman athlete who had a baby daughter. He started having blood in his stool regularly and saw a doctor who said it's just stress and prescribed antidepressants. As his symptoms got worse and worse months later he got a colonoscopy and had colon cancer that has spread throughout his entire body and became terminal. He died the same year.

If the first doctor had taken it serious and actually investigated why he was bleeding out of his colon he likely would have survived.

And this is why I despise psychology, antidepressants and anyone promoting them.

Well I share your disdain for anti-depressants so we at least have that in common. I’ve never seen Peterson promote them though I obviously know about his issue with benzos and how he told people it was hell. As far as I know he’s never told people to be like him, just shared advice that he thought would be helpful, which you say is good messaging. I’d be interested to see some examples of him pushing/promoting SSRIs or other antidepressants though since that seems to be a huge issue you have with him.
